TC, it’s always a close call and you have to live with what the referee says, so that is fair enough as long as they are consistent. What really bugs me is the number of times I see tacklers or blokes arriving at breakdowns and “accidentally” getting in the way of clearers and even the half-back of the side with the ball. And bu99er me with a broomstick, this clear obstruction gives their side that millisecond extra time to latch on and win the ball or get a penalty. And the refs let them get away with it. Then again all rucks are an invitation for illegalities. Look at the times an attacker runs past the ruck and takes out a defender on the basis that he is near the ruck, so is part of it. Then suddenly the halfback or someone runs the ball right through that space. Seen plenty of tries scored that way. Also bad is when a big boofa bloke swan-dives onto the tackled player and tackler, sealing off the ball. :angry:

To me it looked at lot like very good defensive line out work, rather than any Brumbies mid-firing, unless being very readable is a mis-fire
