The Crusaders and Chiefs meet for the first semi-final in Super Rugby Pacific. Join The Roar for live scores from 5:05pm AEST.

The Crusaders are tough to beat at Orangetheory Stadium and they’ll start as clear favourites in this one.

Tom Christie returns to replace Ethan Blackadder who suffered a dislocolated shoulder.

If a semi-final isn’t enough to get the Crusaders pumped up they also have their coach Scott Robertson celebrating 100 matches in charge of the franchise.

In that time he has an incredible 83% winning streak.

The Chiefs will want to spoil the party and they have a handy inclusion with All Blacks captain Sam Cane back in the mix. He’ll start on the bench.

There’s only one other change with Josh Ioane starting at fullback in place of Emoni Narawa.

A spot in the Super Rugby Pacific final is up for grabs with the winner to face either the Blues or Brumbies who meet tomorrow night.

I reckon Ioane at centre (at this point of his career) would simultaneously worry each opponent of New Zealand and also greatly diminish the chance of New Zealand winning the World Cup / becoming the best team in the world again. Flashier than Goodhue and better at scoring tries but I’m otherwise unsure how he is better in any other way as a centre.

I agree, the ABs weren’t good enough last year. For the record, I’d choose ALB if injury free.

If you want more from your centre then you must be really annoyed with how the ABs went against SA Ireland and France last year Probably don’t want to select a guy who hasn’t scored a try against any side in the Super Rugby top 7 so far this year either eh! For the record – I am hoping the Blues centres go well today First rule for playing centre – be defensively rock solid

100% on defence is great, but I want more from my centres. Conrad Smith etc did that as a basic expectation, but also created opportunities which I didn’t see Goodhue doing. He definitely seems a bit off the pace coming back from injury. Agree, Nankavil not great but at least adds an attacking dimension.

Yea I just mentioned to Highlander I can only find the RFU guidelines, which say no ban unless both yellows were for foul play, which these weren’t - one being a technical one for the team offences. But hard to find a definitive answer online on the SRP process. So as usual, the process and procedure is clear as mud.

He will go to a hearing as default for the two yellows as it is upgraded to a Red. I understand you can get a week for two yellow cards. I doubt he will get this but his record could work against him.

Goodhue gave almost the perfect centre performance Differing numbers out there but one has 17 Huge tackle count – not a miss Taking the likes of retalick head on when needed Organised that back line D perfectly Carried Well His work on the ground was exactly what was needed Nankavil didn’t get a sniff

Once again just proves my point about the abysmal quality of the commentators on Sky. That is just a basic mistake !!!!

I thought Goodhue was pretty invisible tonight, the fourth best of the starting centres. Sevu does have high energy, but just comes across as an immature knob.

What are you talking about? I get you didn’t get the result you wanted, but no one said it wasn’t a yellow. My comment is in response to the one about the judiciary throwing Berry under the bus and letting Matera play next week. “Since when has a yellow card for repeat offending not counted as a proper yellow card in all aspects?” In answer to your question, the RFU distinguishes between technical yellow cards and foul play yellow cards. Especially in relation to 2x yellow and the resulting red card and post match sanctions. I’m still trying to find the SRP guidelines. But pretty easy to see there is a difference.

It would be great Colvin, but the Brumbies would be used to the cold. I am hoping that the Brumbies get up as it would be great for the competition, plus the best Aussie side going up against the best team in the history of the comp.

What an exceptional all round full back Jordan has become. His attack is well documented but he's also so decisive using his power in big moments with his tackling. Tackles above his weight.

Loving the Andrew Mehrtens red and black eye patch, available at Two Dollar Shops throughout the Canterbury region. Since when has a yellow card for repeat offending not counted as a proper yellow card in all aspects? When it doesn't suit the Cantabs!

Codie Taylor is cooked Chiefs hooker has to be AB’s hooker Guzzler is getting back to his best, good sign for the AB’s BBBB will get the nod ahead of Mo’unga Quinn Tupea may be lucky to get a black jersey, Will Jordan couldn’t get enough black jerseys, he’s freakin awesome, if they go for JB in at 12, Jordan has to be full back. Sam Cane looked pretty quick when he came on, don’t normally see that. Sevu Reece has to be in the AB’s, his energy is amazing. AB selectors have problems in the mid field and front row, who is good enough for props? Is Franks still in the frame? Mid field, heaps of great players available, no one really standing out, but Goodhues defence is a standout, his attack not so much. Bulky Barrett is a very, very good rugby player, needs to be AB’s back up lock.

Great game for a neutral. How good is S. Barret (i also like his brothers). Is Will Jordan the best player in SRP? The world? Is Sevu Reece the full quid? Go the Ponies tomorrow
