Gardner is a better referee than I am. But he had a blind spot tonight on Blues’ gridiron blocking. That yellow was a joke. The Blues blocking around the ruck on the Landers side was off the charts.

Needs a bit more meat on the bones, last week he had a blinder

Yea the landers would have to be happy with that 2 dames in well done. Well over 200 tackles to about 80 odd I think the comms said. They stayed in the fight

Is Patchell still test standard? Looks pretty good out there with a varied skill set.

Interesting point I noticed. Anyone else know who NIB is?

Dealt? Blues had a lot of ball but made really hard work of it. PPP always picks up injuries so I don’t know if that is an indication of being overpowered.

Thanks Mirt. The crowd all around me was fooled!

Blues had so much ball. Just a bit better at bullying the Highlanders at the breakdown.

Nevermind me, it seemed like they were warming up at a diff stadium

Can't fault the effort Highlanders. Work ons are kick off receiving and securing your own ball at the breakdown. Good ticker and some great attack.

The tackle count numbers are ridiculous. 3 to one at least in favour of the Blues.

It’s been sloppy - but have enjoyed the Blues absorbing a few early shots, and then dominating nearly every aspect of this contest. Cleaned out the negative pests in the ruck, claimed the air - and by the end the Highlanders didn’t want a bar of scrums!

Gardiner pulls out the yellow card with 30 seconds to go. Aspects of this match could do with pulling their socks up. Blues deserve the win, and it's not quite like Italy watching on as France get awarded an illegal try to avert a loss, but rugby has a reffing/TMO problem.

Clearly on the line from where I’m sitting

Highlanders looking much better than last year playing some good rugby. Should be too good for most of the Aussie teams at least. Just worn down by wave after wave of big Blues forwards. Blues looking more grounded... But will it be enough against the very best?

Crowd uproar as a kick from outside the 22 is treated by the line ref as if it was kicked by the Blues from inside the 22. Penalty count going against the Blues. Taking out players around the breakdown finally gets pinged.
