The Hurricanes and the Highlanders will be looking to end their disappointing Super Rugby Aotearoa campaigns on a high when they lock horns in Wellington. Keep an eye on proceedings with live scores right here on The Roar from 5:05pm (AEST).

It has been a dismal season for the Hurricanes, winning just one match to sit two games behind in last spot on the table. It means they have nothing to play for but pride in this one.

One-time All Black Julian Savea makes a welcome return to the No.14 jersey after being rested for their 26-24 loss to the Chiefs.

Today will also bring the Highlanders’ season to a close, though they can leapfrog the Blues into third with a win. They will be keen to reverse the result of their last match against the ‘Canes back in March, a 19-30 loss giving Jason Holland’s men their sole victory for the season.

I not sure why anyone would think he a future AB. I a Cane's man, but I find he has a few too many weaknesses to be a contender for ABs. He has to learn to keep making himself available when play doesn't come his way, and certainly needs to hold position in defence a bit better than he does at present.

"Again" is a strange word to describe a competition that has never happened before.

For,a,captain there is too much Bakkies in him now. He is getting a reputation as a dirty player in my view. I like controlled aggression but elbows in the face to evoke a reaction is not on especially not if you are the captain. If that is the examples you set as leader you are not a leader.

I wish we'd prioritise sevens in Olympic year. Biggest event of the year and plenty of time to get back for the world cup.

So said when injury or illness takes away what made a player a joy to watch.

Lol, no one knocks back a spot in the real ABs mate. I’d say he wouldn’t be ready this year anyway, so he is free to go play 7s.

Almost as go of as seeing Coles run over him for the last 1st half try. Sometimes Coles can be a real duck, but he turn it up tonight, but Aaron Smith should be able to take it.

Well technically he’s represented NZ in Sevens and they are called the ABs too... word is he is looking for Olympic gold so may just knock back a 15 a side offer.

Was thinking the same thing. Especially in that one shot looking back to NMS on ground as Rayasi runs away.

Must be galling for NMS to get stepped like that. Used to be the other way around!
