Adelaide United will be hoping home-ground advantage is enough to give them an edge against the high-flying Central Coast Mariners. Stay up to date with their A-League clash with live scores on The Roar from 7:05pm (AEDT).
Central Coast currently sit four points clear at the top of the table, and it’s beginning to look like this isn’t some early-season flash in the pan, but instead that they’re genuine title threats.
They have the best goal difference in the competition with plus-seven, have won their last three and four of their last five, and with the likes of Alou Kuol terrorising opposition defences, it’s hard to see them slowing down anytime soon.
Adelaide are a long way from the heights that the Mariners are enjoying. Indeed, their formline is the complete opposite of tonight’s opponents: they’ve lost three on the trot and four of their past five fixtures. Against the league leaders, that bodes poorly.
They desperately need to tighten up at the back – they shipped four goals against Macarthur last week, and it’s been the best part of a month since they kept a clean sheet – but their attack is also troublesome. The Reds haven’t scored more than a single goal in a game since January 20, when they lost 5-3 to Perth, and against the free-scoring Mariners, that will need to change if they want to get any kind of a result tonight.
Kick-off time: 7:05pm (AEDT)
Venue: Coopers Stadium
TV: Fox Sports
Live stream: Kayo Sports, Foxtel Now, Foxtel Go, MyFootball Live app
Betting: Adelaide $2.62, Central Coast $2.48, draw $3.45 (odds via PlayUp)

Flat track bullies? Are you locked out of your safe space mate? Nothing to be excited about for Adelaide after playing *maybe* 10mins decent football & being gifted three. Did they have a shot in open play? Cant recall one. Mauk needs to examine his reasons for playing, as he doesnt bring much apart from his ability to fall over. Totally ironic if this farcical game reverses the fortunes of these two sides - it would be totally undeserved for either of them.

AA -if you believe your own logic re.as to why Stajcic was yellow carded, then, to coin an old phrase, "you'll eat everything you see". Just a few weeks ago it was explained to the long suffering public that a rule change had been made where ,if a ball struck your foot and bounced up to hit n arm it was not deemed "deliberate" and therefore not a penalty. Here in this game that's exactly what happened and yet the official "deemed" it a penalty. So, was the new rule applied as it had been in the other game when no penalty was awarded?. In this game, by the time the third penalty was awarded, Stajcic had enough reasonable excuses to be "outside his area", and if you can't "see" that, then it is pointless discussing this farce with you. jb.

According to the stats above, Adelaide had zero shots on target!

CCM “pay the penalty” & suffer defeat. Flat track bullies who were false leaders on the back of a series of home games & being fortunate with opponents having a player red carded. Now they commence their slide down the ladder & find their rightful place in the pecking order. Is it not too late to recall Usain Bolt?

Very interesting , if Sydney Fc got 3 penalties like that in a single game there would be 10 articles and a 1000 comments by now. Is this the first time a team has scored 3 goals without a single shot on target during regular play.

Mauk talking to coach Veart after he was taken off: But coach, why'd you take me off? I've got heaps more dives left in me!

A penalty hattrick - that's not something you see every day.

You get 0 decision against Sydney, because these decisions tonight are gift enough for one season.

Okon used to be as well, when the mariners won 3 games in a year.

I'm surprised Adelaide didn't cop a spotty for that as well

It was because his hand was away from his body. Read the rules rather than watch you tube and you'll have a better understanding of them

Harry Kewell never intentionally handed the ball, but why a penalty was given in the match vs Ghana. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lxfcNKMdb_0 It is because that should Kewll's hand not there, the ball would fly into the net.

A scathing review about the level of incompetent referring & VAR has just been published on FTBL, in regards to tonight’s travesty. > ANALYSIS: THE DAY THE RULES DIED
