They looked on pace to go 0-17 but, fortunately, the Crows broke their duck last week with a rousing 35-point win over Hawthorn. Competitive performances have been few and far between for Adelaide in 2020 – and they’re still destined for the wooden spoon – but with the pressure released after a big win, they’ll be a much more dangerous opposition.

Greater Western Sydney also look to be on the way up after they seemed destined for a shock finals miss. They scrapped past the Blues in an ugly affair last time out, although their slick demolition of Fremantle beforehand was an ominous reminder of the talent they possess. With other teams around them slipping up, they’re primed for a finals return.

The Crows knocked off the Giants by 21 points in their only meeting in 2019, although GWS won the previous two encounters. Adelaide’s record against the Giants in Adelaide is strong, winning six of their seven all-time meetings.

Ghost seems to have it in for Adelaide - his usual refrain is that by some karmic reasoning, Adelaide should finish last every season for the rest of the century. You could look through his history of comments, but he doesn't seem to be capable of creating a profile.
