The final round of the home-and-away season begins as the North Melbourne Kangaroos take on the West Coast Eagles at Metricon Stadium. Join The Roar for live scores from 7:10pm (AEST).

This season simply can’t end soon enough for North Melbourne. They’ve won just one of their last 14 matches and the bottom has fallen out over the last three weeks with ten-goal defeats to both Gold Coast and Fremantle. With a rebuild set to begin, this could be last appearance in blue and white for a few players.

West Coast are limping towards the finals somewhat, but their place is assured and they’ll relish the opportunity to tune-up against a cellar-dweller ahead of the pre-finals bye. They put in a spirited performance last week to knock off the Saints in a match many tipped them to lose.

The Kangaroos have a poor recent record against the Eagles, losing four of the last five meetings – including last year’s sole meeting by 49 points. They haven’t defeated West Coast away from their Hobart fortress since 2014.

Who is better than Naitanui? Who is better than Sheppard? Who is a better small forward than Ryan?

How's the surf, Neil? Lived at Sunderland Bay many moons ago and have fond memories of the waves at PI.

4 AAs? Love ya optimism but near on 20% of the AA team . . . I don't think so.

Technically, an excellent result, but, said Marcia, I fear I'm losing interest.

Crappy game really shows how strong we are away. On another note how long till 6x6 aka Sir Angry Alot Aka I have alot of issues gets banned again. Seems he be coming back to life. Please barrack for any team apart from the Eagles seriously your the reason our fans are hated and fair point looking at you.

Yeah Edwards is a great in. Has been standing in the shadows of Martin, Cotchin and Delidio all his career, so doesn’t often get the accolades he deserves.

Let’s face facts we are not going to win any final against anyone wherever we play if we play like that again. It seems injuries are conspiring against us. Yes JK is a vital cog for any tilt at the flag. Allen is good but not up to his standard yet. We just don’t seem to be able to click in QLD and ok we are going to be relieved to get a home final but just can’t see us going much further unless we see a completely different gear of performance. It’s not impossible but as it stands at the moment improbable. Love my Eagles and here’s to them give it a good crack lads you have it in you.

Yeah, living at Phillip Island now, so outside Melbourne metro area. Restrictions eased, so can now travel around Victoria, except for Melbourne.

Didn't see Shaw's presser this week but I presume he wasn't utterly haunted and bereft unlike last week. I'm glad his team responded for him and their fans. Everyone should have some glimmer of hope, or this is not the game for you.

Well as it was a comment on wce sorry I hurt your feelings and didn’t take time to really make north feel more respected, was saying north had something to prove implying they played well not enough?

Thank god that's over! Eagles get to fly home, rest up and regroup. They looked tired. Ainsworth improving. Petch understandably out of form. Tk quiet. Liam 'Mr. Magic' Ryan. Dirty Dirk Diggler -Duggan. If JK and Gov missed finals, reckon we're covered with Barrass and Allen.
