The spluttering West Coast Eagles are desperate to get their season back on track, and they come up against the Sydney Swans at Metricon Stadium. Join The Roar for live scores from 1:45pm (AEST).

It’s been a trip to Queensland to forget for West Coast, who’ve lost all three matches since the season resumed and looked nowhere near it in any of them. The pre-season premiership fancies can’t wait for their hub nightmare to end, but desperately need to secure four points before heading back to Perth.

It’s been an up-and-down season for Sydney. One week after an inspiring away win over the then-undefeated Kangaroos, they were made to look second-rate by the surging Western Bulldogs at home last Thursday night. While the Swans are a popular pick to miss finals, it was a performance coach John Longmire was clearly unhappy with.

The Swans have a superb record against the Eagles, having won the last three encounters and 12 of 14 since 2008. Only four of West Coast’s 21 all-time wins over Sydney have been outside of Perth. The Eagles have also only won once at Metricon Stadium since it was redeveloped.

For sure, and had a couple of key players out...but for mine was good to see the Eagles finally fire up!

Yeah, I did live in Melbourne Essence and went to the same school as Wallsy who was 3 years ahead of me - what’s your point?

Good luck with Port. I’ve gone North and Lions. So may be 0/2 by the end of the night.

The Brander riddle needs to be solved asap. He definitely belongs in the team, but where? The current way they play him makes him a liability, even if he’s improving weekly. Don’t want to lose the kid but we may play the confidence out of him. A real worry.

We won at team selection. Just need a few seniors, especially Darling back. :( Cole, Duggan, Barass great.

I thought both Waterman and Oscar Allen both really sparked the Eagles. Both very strong players I hope will stay in the team.

Your boys cooked me. Still 2 out of ain’t bad. Geelong going done would be worse than the Vic COVID total.

We are doomed. Good on the AFL getting all teams out, or there’d definitely be another season shutdown. Gill doing an excellent job, don’t envy him.

Ah, the Herald Sun says he's still gonna be travelling.

The Herald Sun says the club was "blindsided today" cause they thought it was put behind them in 2018. Then again, the Herald Sun says a lot of things...

Glad I tipped West Coast to win. Good decision considering I don’t live in a footy state.

Sydney odds on for the wooden spoon. 4 points but there no threat the eagles will make the eight. No Buddy hurts.

Was very very tempting to go Suns. Geelong not playing that well right now, but expect them to be in extra gear for Selwood and Ablett specials. Gone Geelong, but honestly hope Suns win. (It’d be a good shake up, send more scares across the league).
