The Cronulla Sharks are hoping to put a tumultuous time behind them against the last-placed Canterbury Bulldogs at Netstrata Jubilee Stadium. Stay up to date with their NRL clash with live scores on The Roar from 5:30pm (AEST).
The extremely controversial departure of coach John Morris either took its toll on the Sharks or failed to galvanise them, depending on your viewpoint. They were in it all night against Newcastle last week, before some Kalyn Ponga heroics saw them go down. With Craig Fitzgibbon now locked in for 2022, what the club intends to get out of the season’s remainder is unclear.
Scoring 18 points in back-to-back matches has been the lone highlight in an otherwise disastrous start to 2021 for the Bulldogs. A brief second-half flurry had them looking a chance of stealing a first win for the season, but it went begging and now the Canterbury side have a really tough stretch of matches coming up as they desperately attempt to avoid the spoon.
The Sharks scored a narrow 20-18 win when these sides met last season, their sixth win in their last seven meetings with the Bulldogs. The Dogs have won on six of their last eight visits to Kogarah Oval – but none of them have been against Cronulla.

Yep, nothing against the sharks fans but I'm supporting the opposition each week. I didn't really have any attachment to Morris but it was just inexplicable. As a roosters I have soft spot for Fitz, so I worry. How can he trust the front office when they say something. How do elite players trust the management team? You can offer more money but that's a trap in a capped league.

Well clearly they're out to dissuade melee instigators after last week.. Crichton copped $1350 fine for starting one, Flanno cost his side a penalty for doing same.

just rewatched the highlights, a personal thanks to Dugan for our first 2 tries, Trindal for ruining so many chances at the end and Hannay for subbing Trindal on for Johnson

re the video – pushing in scrums is dangerous. If scrums are to be contested, both forward packs should agree to it. Imagine packing for a scrum thinking it is the usual, lean in and have a breather moment, suddenly you have 600 plus kilograms of prime beef of the opposition pack pushing against you – easy for the 2nd row or lock to have their necks caught in an awkward position as they get marched backwards at a fairly high speed. Yes, understand it is not illegal to push so technically players shuld be ready for it. Well done to the Bulldogs.

The decision from last week is making its mark.... the performance by the men in Cronulla jerseys was not the same as the previous 6 weeks. Hannay’s super coach move of taking Johnson off in the last 20 mins was criminal.... All this is adding even more pressure on Fitzgibbon, it will be a premiership during his tenure or riots... throwing 2021 away like this, only a premiership will be worth it. P.S. dogs put in their best in a season or two & deserved the win, my old man is a bulldogs fan, long time between drinks!
