Round 4 of the NRL premiership concludes with the Parramatta Eels hosting the Wests Tigers at CommBank Stadium. Join The Roar for live scores and commentary from 4:00pm (AEDT).
Last weekend, Parramatta came from behind to beat the previously undefeated Manly, while the Tigers claimed their first victory of the season with an impressive 32-6 trouncing of in-form Cronulla at Leichhardt Oval. If last weekend’s form means anything, we could be in for an interesting game.
While Parramatta start favourites, their stocks are diminished by the absence of Mitch Moses, who has fractured his foot and is out for two months. Blaize Talagi, who impressed at centre against Manly, will wear the 6 jumper in just his second NRL game, with Dylan Brown to deputise for Moses at half.
Morgan Harper shifts in from the wing to cover centre with Maika Sivo returning from a suspension picked up in the trials. Bryce Cartwright has been named though he has been under an injury cloud following a knock to the ribs.
The Tigers maintain largely the same team that saw them thrash Cronulla, with only Asu Kepaoa coming in to take the place of Alex Twal (concussion).
While the Tigers will give a good account of themselves against a Parramatta team denuded of Mitch Moses, the Eels will still be too polished. Eels by 10.

Leather ball doesn't float, if you've got the muscle to kick it it will fly true over a long distance

If Parra were fair dinkum, they should have won this game by heaps, yes, the Tigers got allot of penalties against them, but they were offside allot and deserved those penalties and the hip drop was a hip drop, it wasn't just given for nothing. Anyway, the Tigers are doing well lets see how long this lasts.

Ninth spot after 4 rounds… I guess there’s worse positions to be in.

That Wests penalty is an early contender for dumbest play of the year. Lucky Parra missed the kick.

Moses was injured for a big chunk of the 2022 season; and we had Brown and Arthur in the halves. We crashed and burned that year… oh hang on, no we didn’t - we made the grand final. This is Taluigi and Brown’s first game together - I’m not sounding any alarm bells on a one point loss in their first hit out.

With a leather ball and the equipment used back then? He’d have been lucky to make the distance.

Ah, that one hurts. Even without Moses, these are the games you need to win if you want to be a genuine threat. Congrats Tigers and Tigers’ supporters; that was a bloody entertaining game if nothing else. The sting of close losses make the close wins all the sweeter, whenever the next one comes! Interestingly enough, both Moses and Gutho have missed a kick after the siren to win a game for Parra, from early the same spot. The kicks both dragged to the left as well - Moses against Penrith in 2022 (I think). At that angle and that far back; probably would’ve been smarter to go for touch and set up the levelling field goal. Oh, and Galvin? Enjoy your holiday - a hip drop like that, you’ll be lucky to play again before the Bathurst trip against Penrith.

Unbelievable that guy can be playing in the top grade. But bush coach Arthur sees something that no one else can see.

Looks like you came to praise Sezer after the Eels failed to bury him. Tigers supporters will lend them their beers tonight!!

No they aren’t. But you have to accumulate wins. Parra had crazy territory in the 1st half. Barely looked like scoring. No Moses, no Parra.
