Round 9 of the NRL season concludes with a meeting between the St George Illawarra Dragons and Manly Sea Eagles. Join The Roar for live scores from 6:30pm (AEST).

Both these sides come into today’s encounter in need of a win. Manly went close against the Knights last week but were unable to get over the line, while St George’s second-half resurgence wasn’t enough against the Raiders.

The Sea Eagles, after being touted as genuine premiership threats, haven’t been helped by a string of injuries to key players, but even so, just two wins in their last five matches doesn’t inspire a lot of confidence.

Des Hasler has made just the one change from the side which came up short against Newcastle, and it’s a forced one. Addin Fonua-Blake is suspended for his vile late-game tirade to Grant Atkins, with Taniela Paseka starting in his place and Morgan Boyle coming onto the bench.

The Dragons have shuffled their forward pack, with Tariq Sims returning from injury in the second row. Ben Hunt moves to hooker, Cameron McInnes to lock, Tyrell Fuimaono to the bench and Korbin Sims out of the side entirely. Winger Jason Saab has made way for Jordan Pereira on the wing.

Undoubtedly Manly absolutely look like shot ducks. What a pathetic performance. If the door is still on the hinges in the Hasler Manly duds dressing room, then there needs to be an investigation.

The Dragons scored more than the Swans today. Red and white bragging rights!

The Dragons were always favorites and Manly are a woeful wet weather outfit. We haven't got going this season even when we have won. I always thought Mary was on a hiding to nothing this season, the losses would be his and the wins Flanno's .

You're a good bloke HY - wish I could be that gracious in defeat - tough times for Manly and the Raiders at the moment

I think there is a difference between not putting in 100% and just not being first grade standard, which in the case of Elliott/Garrick as fullbacks, Croker, Gosiewski, Levi, Boyle, and Keppie, they probably aren't.

These boys from Manly have surely hit rock bottom. Nevertheless, the Dragons always played as if they believed they could win. As a Manly fan, if I have to lose, I can live with losing to the Dragons. It'll give them some confidence, and good on 'em. It was a big win.

Assistant coaches can be worth their wait in gold. Ask Paul Green when he had Cartwright and Furner helping.

You've forgotten their heroics of just a couple of weeks ago pretty quick. Dessie will have them back on track soon.

Perhaps Hasler has been talking to the Broncos. History shows how fickle Columbo is. Lol@manly

I'm a Dragons fan mate, so on no way connected to the Eagles, but I thought they looked off tonight, and the Dragons sensed that and got really physical. Also, Dragons have improved a lot the last few weeks, and this has been coming.

Cheers DPS. Nothing but praise for your boys tonight. Very committed performance. You might be right about Flanno. But I reckon a lot of praise should fall on the shoulders of young Dufty. He’s been a rock since Rd 5. Players have lifted because of him.
