The St George Illawarra Dragons host the North Queensland Cowboys in Round 3 action at Netstrata Jubilee Stadium. Join The Roar for live scores from 5.30pm AEDT.

Shane Flanagan has rejigged his Dragons pack following his side’s 38-0 humbling at Redcliffe. Jack de Belin goes to prop to replace Francis Molo, who is suspended and Viliame Fifita is the new man on the bench. Luciano Leilua starts and Jesse Marschke gets an NRL debut at hooker.

Cowboys forward Heilum Luki’s ankle injury means Kulikefu Finefeuiaki starts in the second row with Jack Gosiewski called up to the interchange.

Prediction

The Dragons were great in Round 1, terrible the week after. The Cowboys were lucky to beat Newcastle last Saturday. Cowboys by 14

Big turning point when saints could have been up 24 nil .. could have been a different story. The reality is that saints bombed tries but 8 against us though not the best.

Zac Lomax should stay wing. He's a threat out there, is a good carry on early tackles and can cross the stripe. And tell him to stick his request for a release in his bad haircut.

Cowboys on form will get dusted first team that plays some decent football. To 3-0 at this point is a massive bonus.

Very soft defensively Nat, but RFM fluffing his lines was super costly. But the good teams defend that and don’t drop their bundle.

Half the Broncos team is missing, you should be fine

To all the Dragons fans, be happy that you had 46 against and scored 24 points, which is 18 points more than the Bunnies did

Congrats Andy. Winning ugly is still winning. I have seen those two, but the Dragons are in their own division for mind boggling ineptitude to the power of Sharon Woods

Well done Cows, deserved winners there. Both teams are paper thin defensively. Dragons can rue their missed chances and there were plenty of them. RFM scores and it’s a different ball game, but that exposes our lack of resilience, constantly giving 12 point turn arounds and wondering why we lose footy games. Flanno has lots to work with defensively and me thinks Bird is too slow to stay out I n the centres, for me it’s back to bench as a 14 to cover the backs for injury and play forwards in the interchanges. Looking a lot better than last year, but 9-12 will be our landing spot this season.

It was 24 points missed in opportunities. Plus the disallowed try. So Cowboys can be happy to win & by that much, but..

Cowboys won’t have Hess, Luki, maybe Cotter and Laybutt. Taumalolo hasn’t really played this season either.

Let through enough points to lose even more games. Cows scored at will in the second half. A harsh look and a stern talking to would have provided more defence

18points easily missed by the Dragons. Throw in a Townsend try that should never have been scored and a Sloan miss grounding it’s a very different score. Honestly the Cowboys are working their way to a loss and we have the Broncos next week? I hate losing to the Broncos.

Next week the Cowboys get to play against the Broncos. Without Reynolds, Walsh & Haas.
