What was clear and obvious was the ball being handled by a Hurrican off his feet at the bottom of the ruck. At least with the call they got, the Hurricanes had the chance to win the scrum, but it should have been a penalty against them. Otherwise a great game to watch and on the stats, Hurricanes unlucky not to win.
TJ had it in his hands when Whitelock "knocked" it out.
Loose Carry, unprotected ruck, either way ain't Karma the B-Word.
TJ, the mister for milked penalties had one go against him....
Clear & obvious like a sore thumb. It was merely Nic Berry's way of guaranteeing the final wouldn't be played at Estadio José Amalfitani ... located in the Liniers neighborhood of Buenos Aires, Argentina, near Liniers railway station.[1] (Not far from where that Eichmann fella was finally corralled in 1960, but the notorious 'angel of death' only just managed to slip away)
Otherwise the Haguaries might just have got away with winning their first ever Super Rugby title, upsetting the balance of power aka pecking order.
Now we're in for more disconcerting crucial refereeing decisions in Christchurch come Staurday...
Canes deserved to be in the final. Now though, seems we're gunna be in for more rap dancing...
Congratulations, taylorman, you have managed to encapsulate in one comment the great spirit of New Zealand rugby that endears it to rugby fans around the world.
True Harry, Berry had a very good game, particularly when you compare it to the Jags v Brumbies ref who wasn't biased just bad..
TJP is correct it was a penalty.
Bla bla bla... TJ having something to say??? Maybe if he learnt to shut his mouth during a game a ref would be a little more sympathetic when he has a real issue to complain about.
When all is said and done, big Sam will be quietly chuffed about his little misdemeanour. Yes it was a foul, and yes he got away with it, and yes its possible, though not necessarily probable that the Canes could have scored, and won, as a result. In time itll slip under the radar, and big Sam will put that one away as the day he crossed the wee line for his side, and hopefully, title.
I'd have had more sympathy for the Canes if Coles hadn't put a late shoulder charge in between Mo'unga's shoulder blades in the first half. All up a great match with lots of brilliant play from both teams.
Definitely. Missed it. Clever Sam. He knew it was worth the risk to grab the cookie. If he gets caught, the Canes still have perform 4-5 steps under extreme pressure. If he doesn’t, it’s game over. The ref can’t see everything, and we have a one-ref-on-field system, unlike some other codes. Regrettable. Geoff Parkes was saying just before that, Nic Berry had a good “let ‘em play” innings going. Maybe that’s the summary. And maybe the Canes should have had more hands in more rucks. Anyway, it was still a hell of a match.

What is clear and obvious is the Hurricanes player in Yellow, on the ground handling the ball.

TJP should be fined for questioning the decision publicly , brining the game into disrepute.
