I condemn all of it Peter, it's all silly, and most reasonable people agree.
Not OF the people, it's ON the people: thought police and speech police telling the plebs how to think and talk.
I respect what you are saying Micko but if you seek to condemn social engineering,
then it is not me that you should point the finger at but successive Australian Governments, be they labor or liberal. It is they that in collaboration with Corporate Australia, NGO's and sporting bodies like Rugby Australia that are the social engineer's. Last time I looked I think they called it it Multi Culturalism. I wonder what in this vibrant "Democracy" of ours, they will prescribe for us next ?
JT, Nine will only be done with League only if it is not pulling in the viewers and there is no hope of that there. However, it is in their interests to promote and increase the viewership of Rugby now that they have bought in and it is good to see the amount of advertising they are doing. It's all about money. I've no problem with League. Sometimes, as with all sports there are games that are worth watching and I hope rule changes to Rugby do not make Rugby similar to League. That would really turn me off. Nine are being smart with the timing of both League and Rugby games so there is no clash which may mean we could attract some Leagues over to watch the Rugby game and become true fans. Being a fan of Rugby or League does not preclude someone also being a fan of the other game. Cheers.
mate if the networks had it on free to air - bloody beaudy mate, but with rugger way down the list of sports on the networks in South Oz! only way to watch em

Not a holiday drive at all Mooty…Stop the presumeing as its BS… been there for work, short trips and many years running…Sounds like I have a far better knowlege on the rugby situation there than you do which tells me rugby is not the sport you follow as you arnt even aware of the local scene….
And You dont even know if you have Gem? Really? Must really be into rugby eh mooty? Try STAN…Its available all over Aus…If that doesnt work get a rugby pass…but you clearly dont even follow rugby at all so just dont bother like you currently arnt bothering!!!
No, there’s a difference between overall population and households.
I’m telling you up to 33% of households have a subscription to Stan.
I find it amusing that the person who was unaware of a SVOD with 2.5million subscribers thinks I’m the one who needs to do research on subscription Tv.
Including Fox the numbers for the first NRL game were over a million and that doesn't include Kayo streaming, the 400k figure was just FTA metro figures.
I haven't seen Super Rugby at any pub or club since the season started, and sadly I'm there a lot lately. Even when we ask the bar tender to turn on Gem he said all the TVs were allocated to other spots, eventually they put us in a corner with a TV but they really need to sort this out.
This is a crazy article....
Rugby was on its knees with Fox.
The 9 / Stan / Fairfax/ Radio network has not only stopped the slide but for the first time in years the graph is heading north not south....
Well here's the thing, Streaming is the way of the future and its only getting better. Rugby is pretty much a dead sport so its lucky to even get a TV deal from Stan, There not a bad as the A-League but getting there.

But you also said they wouldn't change the channel to GEM. So accessibility isn't the issue.

The same could be said about any SVOD service.

In a busy pub outside of a Rugby heartland when other sports are on they WILL NOT set up a stream.
