So you admit Cole was banging out 80mins when he was the same age as Tupou… and the dude is still smashing out massive minutes now as a 36 year old… enough said…

Dont he like confirmation bias…

'He'd been flogged to death': Rebels GM's scathing Tupou claim as Wallaby battles to reignite his fire

Cole has plenty of times….. so i guess this comment isn’t a fact either then eh

'He'd been flogged to death': Rebels GM's scathing Tupou claim as Wallaby battles to reignite his fire

you seem to struggle with facts… I was replying to the claim that TT played 80 in more then half the games he played at the Reds… that is not true nor a fact, not even close

'He'd been flogged to death': Rebels GM's scathing Tupou claim as Wallaby battles to reignite his fire

Because carrying the ball is the measure of a props effort is it…

'He'd been flogged to death': Rebels GM's scathing Tupou claim as Wallaby battles to reignite his fire

Sure, which part aren’t you grasping then.

That he only averaged 56mins in the year he was injured at the Reds, or that Stiles is bringing up game-time from 3 years ago to justify the current fitness state of Tupou at the Rebels.

'He'd been flogged to death': Rebels GM's scathing Tupou claim as Wallaby battles to reignite his fire

I mean the Kitshoff who won a RWC Grand Final after averaging 66 mins for the Stormers in 2022 and 69mins in 2023, he then followed that up with a RWC campaign and championship… And he is 4 years older than Tupou.
Sheesh… maybe this argument isn’t as simplistic it’s been made out to be eh….

'He'd been flogged to death': Rebels GM's scathing Tupou claim as Wallaby battles to reignite his fire

Dan Cole has done it multiple times and he is still banging out massive efforts even at 36 years old.

Clearly this argument isn’t as clearly defined as you make it out to be.

'He'd been flogged to death': Rebels GM's scathing Tupou claim as Wallaby battles to reignite his fire

That’s not a fact nor is it true.

In 2022 year Tupou was injured, he played 9’games averaging 56mins and not one of those was 80mins

'He'd been flogged to death': Rebels GM's scathing Tupou claim as Wallaby battles to reignite his fire

I mean the RWC winning THP who averaged and 69mins in 2022, and 66mins in 2023 for the Stormers and then managed to back it up with RWC Grand Final win in 2023 at 31 years old.

Facts are facts, RWC THP’s are playing more than this ‘45 min’ shit you keep sprucing. Other test props like Dan Cole’s are playing more minutes then Tupou and they’re in the twilight of their career.

Cleary this argument isn’t as clearly defined as you keep making it out to be with your simplistic Furlong claim.

Exactly

'He'd been flogged to death': Rebels GM's scathing Tupou claim as Wallaby battles to reignite his fire

Do people actually read comments or just start flapping their lips.

Tupou played 9 games averaging 56mins in 2022, the year he strained his calf. That was his last game for the Reds 2 years ago.

Hardly supports the narrative of this article that too many minutes is what caused Tupou to get injured, or that game time at the Reds 2 years ago is reason for his current lack of fitness.

'He'd been flogged to death': Rebels GM's scathing Tupou claim as Wallaby battles to reignite his fire

A coach from another club blames the fitness of one of their players on what happed at the Reds 3 years ago highlights that?

Don’t think so…

..

'He'd been flogged to death': Rebels GM's scathing Tupou claim as Wallaby battles to reignite his fire

It may surprise you, Tadhg Furlong isn’t the only international prop, and he has certainly averaged more then 50 mins for Leinster in the past, most props like Genge, Coles, Schoeman
Kitshoff do this regularly, regularly playing more games and minutes in a season then Tupou did

'He'd been flogged to death': Rebels GM's scathing Tupou claim as Wallaby battles to reignite his fire

in 2022 he was averaging 56 minutes at the Reds before he was injured, that injury was 2 years ago. 2020 was the year he played some really big minutes.

'He'd been flogged to death': Rebels GM's scathing Tupou claim as Wallaby battles to reignite his fire

He plays less minutes then other test forwards like Genge, Coles, Schoeman, Atonio & Kitshoff
Dan Coles at Tupou’s age was playing significantly more in total games and overall minutes.

'He'd been flogged to death': Rebels GM's scathing Tupou claim as Wallaby battles to reignite his fire

Comparison across 20/21 and 21/22 seasons(pending which one suffered covid disruption)

Taniela Tupou: 24 games, 1374 total minutes (averaged 57′)

Ellis Genge: 31 games, 1982 total minutes (averaged 64′)

Pierre Schoeman: 30 games, 1720 total minutes (averaged 57′)

Uini Atonio: 33 games, 1739 total minutes (averaged 53′)

Tadgh Furlong: 24 games, 1314 total minutes (averaged 55′)

Steven Kitshoff: 26 games, 1496 total minutes (averaged 58′)

Tyrell Lomax: 21 games, 1118 total minutes (averaged 51′)

Dan Cole: 26 games, 1395 total minutes (averaged 54′)

Even if you take Tupous busiest season which was 2018/2019, it pales in comparisons to guys like Dan Coles. In 2015/2016 when Dan Coles was the same age as Tupou he played the following:

Dan Coles: 36 games, 2250 total minutes (averaged 63′)

'He'd been flogged to death': Rebels GM's scathing Tupou claim as Wallaby battles to reignite his fire

Tadgh Furlong had a few injuries and missed a lot of rugby across those years you’ve mentioned there, he has had years where he has played just as much and more rugby then Tupou at a similar age… You’ve referred to Tadgh statistics numerous times, but i suspect it’s a case of confirmation bias then objective analysis.
There are plenty of other world class props that average those minutes, or play significantly more total minutes and games a year.
France THP Uini Atonio played 31 matches across 2021/2022, with more total minutes then Tupou has every played in a season.
Dan Cole has averaged 28-29 matches a year since 2015, regular playing up to 1900 minutes a season and has had a number of season where he averaged 65-70mins in Premiership Cup when he was the same age as Tupou. And that guy is 36 years old now.
Ellis Genge regularly averages 65-70mins in Premiership Cup, likewise Steven Kitcshoff in the URC. Pierre Schoeman is another who is routinely playing 60-65 mins and playing more rugby each year both in minutes and number of games then Tupou. These guys were all international front rowers…

The same could be said about any SVOD service.

Removed article

No, there’s a difference between overall population and households.
I’m telling you up to 33% of households have a subscription to Stan.
I find it amusing that the person who was unaware of a SVOD with 2.5million subscribers thinks I’m the one who needs to do research on subscription Tv.

Removed article

There’s 7.6 million households in Australia and 2.5 million Stan subscribers.

That’s means anywhere up to 1 in 3 households have a Stan subscription.

If you’ve never heard of it, that’s probably a reflection of your lifestyle then marketing. Although given your commenting on an online forum, I really find it hard to believe.

Overseas fans can watch SR free on World Rugby website.

Do you mean Australian fans watching the kiwi and South African players?
Stan still broadcast the kiwi SR tournament, and pending COVID there are still plans for a Trans Tasman tournament starting in May featuring both Australian and Kiwi SR teams

2.5million people are subscribers, but you’ve never heard of Stan? 😂

Phil Kearns was a reason to leave Foxtel.
However on top of that, Foxtel demonstrated a lack of investment in advertising, lack of investment in production costs, lack of investment in content like mid-week rugby shows, lack of investment or initiative in commentators and analysts.
