With less than 36 hours left until the 2022 trade period deadline, a few last-minute curveballs join several major names in needing to be completed in quick time. Join The Roar for a live blog and rolling coverage of the day’s news, rumours and action from 9am (AEDT).

Josh Dunkley, Brodie Grundy, Jack Bowes and Ollie Henry are the major names still on the board after a series of big trades were completed on a bumper Monday of action.

Jason Horne-Francis and Junior Rioli joined Port Adelaide in an astonishing four-team mega trade that saw picks 1, 2 and 3 from this year’s draft all change hands, while Luke Jackson and Izak Rankine also found new homes.

But some last-minute moves also look set to go down, with Essendon, Melbourne and Sydney in talks for a triple-team trade that would see Sam Weideman join the Bombers and Aaron Francis become a Swan.

Elsewhere, Collingwood are set to be busy bees in the next two days, with decisions needed on Grundy and Henry deals while they also try to land Billy Frampton from Adelaide and facilitate a trade for the contracted Tom Mitchell and Brayden Fiorini.

Elsewhere, uncontracted North Melbourne midfielder Jed Anderson is looking to follow Horne-Francis out the door t Arden Street, with Gold Coast interested.

Oh well you'll just have to live with it then because in the end they are an unstable environment and an absolute basket case if truth be told.

They reckon Lions wanted Dunkley early this year. They should have played this mess a tad better than the current chaos that is unfolding. Knowingly two father-sons available possible high picks then commit to a VG player in Dunkley  The dogs have to be the ones to sympathise with Lions, gee wiz!

Don’t really understand why Brisbane didn’t plan ahead- unless he was originally going to Port and changed his mind. Bruce back, still leaves Lobb, Darcy, Naughton and JUH forward. Leave Lobb and go with what you have got.

Agree. Needs to get some handball training too. Hack kicks forwards from roving your own taps are not useful in today’s game. But smart enough to play to instructions.

Yep propaganda for gimmicky, lowest common denominator, and marketing purposes. This is another reason commentaries in general are terrible, and all about the egos and marketing and much less to do with the game itself. And hence the GF is no longer a sacred type of day on the calendar but now one big terrible commercial with some footy. Don't buy the simplistic notion that is so easily bandied about these days re Marxism. This is very much a rampant capitalist enterprise.

Spot on on all accounts there Dougie. Brisbane need to give sometimes of value if they want something of value in return. Well done Doggies, and keeping the culture strong too. If Brisbane get real, then a Dunkley and Gunston combo would be a great pick up for them.

It is Cotch’s last year. Sonsie is a 200 Gamer. He takes Cotch spot, great head for a 19 year old. Ross has beaten RCD for a spot. Brown and Dow need more development. I reckon Dusty has more in him than people think. Everyone forgets Buddy, Plugger and even god had time out and came back better. Also We didn’t need any draft picks this year or next. Plenty of young blokes who need experience. We still have a couple of list spots so not many guys leaving.

Of course Kevo - yep, that prelim final by Gawn roaming forward against Geelong was the best individual ruckman's finals performance I've seen. But it was a one-off. Never seen by Gawn before or since. The Melbourne hierarchy are no doubt hoping it becomes the norm, now with Grundy in the ruck spot. Otherwise they'll have two highly paid rucks rotating off the bench.

Reckon Jackson contract negotiations was based more on potential than outstanding form. Yes a premiership player Yes a great first year player but lots of his games were more average than above average. Demons done extremely well on draft return.

Will back themselves to persuade Henry that he's a permanent piece of their forward line and future.
