Carlton are out to return to the winners’ list when they travel to Perth to face the injury-plaged West Coast Eagles on Saturday night. Join The Roar for live scores from 7:30pm (AEST).
Pressure has mounted on the Blues following consecutive losses to Adelaide and St Kilda, with questions raised about their out of form midfield and spearhead Harry McKay’s wayward goalkicking in particular.
While the Eagles can barely string a full-strength team together, and lose captain Luke Shuey to another injury, they put up a fight in defeat to Port Adelaide last week, and can’t be taken lightly.

Ah the classic probably not a wce supporter reply, I'm ok with a long season I'm not living in 96 any longer and adapt my opinions to circumstances.

Let them put the boot in mate. It's shallow journalism the industry is known for or good banter. And what always makes when we are tipped to still be struggling, then make top 4 all the more sweeter. Culley looking legit, don't you reckon? would that be the case if half the Melbourne clubs were developing him? With Culley maybe, but only so far tallent and work ethic can take players

Gonna be a long season if you are to condure up reasons why we are crap every time we lose. Bit Don like to be quite honest.

 Agreed. A priority pick in the Nov draft should sort us out

Useless bunch we are. No excuses like some still try make we are pathetic. Although as long as we sign Nic Nat and Shuey on for at least 5 years for about 5 games return we will be sweet

26 players training, no chance to put full ground match Sims in place, rotham was always going flogged, midfield without rotation is buggered, this loss was always likely considering all the facts and Carlton took advantage as they should. Still not worried as some seem, seen wce cop some big losses since 87 but there are pretty obvious reasons as to why these are happening.

2 yrs ago Not with the T Train. Voss is driven imo. He wants success, has a look in his eyes - he means business.. . Teague wouldn’t have the Guts to drop TDK. Still tho Voss needs to teach the boys killer instinct & stop switching off in games & get jumped in 1st Qtr. not sure if you can coach efficiency. 8/8 Macca , we need to be 12/4. Or 11/5. But to be there we must put 4 Qtr performances together & take opportunities in F50 . Really looking forward to Friday night - just hope I can get a live game in Thailand ….. :silly:

But we don’t want to be just sneaking into the eight and getting eliminated in the first week. We should have been doing that two years ago.

If it'd been Richmond they'd have given Riewoldt more kicks in front of goal so he could get ten and beat Kennedy for the Coleman, but they never did that, oh, no. Well done Charlie. You won't get a better chance to kick a bag. Shame your teammates didn't think of that

The AFL needs to do something. It's not healthy for the AFL to have two crap sides in Perth. Maybe some supplemental picks at mid season for wet toasters.

That would be great but 8-8 will get us there

Big fan of Kemp, hopefully he can hold his spot

I’m a bit more ambitious than you Macca. Looking for at least 10-6 but wanting 12-4

Good win and percentage boost tonight. I thought Kemp showed some good signs. Wonder why they won't play Dow . Prefer him instead of LOB.

Voss still needs to balance his defence. He’s too risk-adverse for my liking with the players he has. He should be coaching Saint Kilda if he wants to be a defensive coach. However, I do like tempo play styles. The Cats are the best at at, but the Blues have the ability to play fast aggressive footy when required, and defend staunchly if needed. If the Cats don’t go back to back, I honestly believe Carlton has both the list and game style to win. It will come down to whether Voss can truly coach. I’m still not sure about him. He needs to grow a set, which is unusual considering the type of player he was.
