The South Sydney Rabbitohs travel to Newcastle to take on the Newcastle Knights. Join The Roar for live scores and commentary from 2pm AEST.
The Knights continue on their dream run, currently holding a six game winning streak and with two more home games set to come, it could possibly go to eight in a row. However, the Knights need to continue taking it one game a week and not look too far with finals football looming.
The Knights make one change to the side that crushed the Bulldogs, but it’s not the one everyone expected. Jackson Hastings is named at halfback despite suffering a syndesmosis injury, with Bradman Best returning from his calf complaint and replacing Enari Tuala in the centres.
The South Sydney Rabbitohs got back to winning ways, but they were far from convincing against the Dragons. The Rabbitohs need to complete their sets better before it gets too late and they miss out on a finals spot. The Rabbitohs make one change on their bench with Michael Chee Kam named on the bench, but we could see more changes with Tevita Tatola and Hame Sele listed on the reserves.
Even if Hastings were to miss out on this game, I can’t see the Knights losing. Granted the Rabbitohs have plenty of attacking talent at their disposal, but they are not clicking at all. The Knights at home are far too good and the crowd will push them on to another win. Knights by 8

 the sort of a comment above must be typical from you Renegade, you must have so many wraps on yourself that you mustn't have many friends. I admit that the Bunnies are going bad, let's see when your Sharks do the same, as last year you didn't even show up after we smashed the Sharks in week 2 38-12, lets see how you go this year you clown!

 Not even able to front up and humbly say “you were right”… typical. Enjoy the trophy from the May premiership mate, there was a trophy – right?

The Knights and your Sharks Renegade won’t make it to the end of these finals and play offs, so don’t think that you are such a genius phycologist or predictor! The Bunnies are VERY disappointment for all us Bunnies fans and we don’t care about the philosophy of what especially Shark fans think or has happened!

Yeah, looking forward to Knights v Sharks far more than Easts v Souths Likely to be a better game and has far more bearing on the 8 and the premiership…

Called it back in May, we’d seen peak Souths and it won’t be good enough when others hit form at end of year. Knights are the complete opposite and which side would you rather be… the one hitting form now heading into September or the one that peaked in May. The honor of May premiers and pretenders for 2023 is well and truly Souths

Good stuff Knights. Thought they could be giving it away with all the goal misses. They just stuck it out & well done. I think South’s really looked rattled by Newcastle & by that noisy stadium. They are usually so much better than that in attack.. Looking forward to that South’s/ Roosters game last round regardless.

Thank you all for joining the blog today everyone. I have been very fortunate to have gotten tickets to the FIFA Womens WC final tonight earlier today. So I am off to Olympic Park. David Holden will be calling Raiders v Bulldogs. This is Arnab Bhattacharya signing out. Take care and farewell.

The fact is, Latrell always fails to deliver whenever he is expected to.

The Rabbitohs get the bye before they take on the Roosters in round 27. That could determine who takes 8th to round off the season. The Knights get another home game next week as they take on the Sharks.

Not like elbowing your best mate in the face . Just a silly thing to do. Probably just a fine?

Yeah It looked pretty low level to me, Friz didn't react like he'd copped it badly.

FULL TIME NEW 29 SOU 10 Another dominant display from the Knights. Clinical in attack and disciplined in defence. The Rabbitohs just could not cope up with the Knights at all which led to frustration from Milne and Mitchell. With no Hastings at the helm today, Ponga ran the show and is reaping the rewards of playing at fullback individually and for the Knights.

That was a shocker from the Rabbits. Latrell was horrible even before that last play of his. We won’t see Latrell again this year, and to be honest I don’t think the Rabbits make the finals anyway. Congrats Knights, you were excellent today.

80’ Knights shift right on the past before Ponga is tackled. And that’s full time. Knights win!
