I hope there is a party the day Gus leaves the game.

Why is it always "news" when some relic from the past says something stupid, apparently, trying to stay relevant today?

It was a guaranteed send off in 'his day' He is a loon. Someone WILL die on the park if he was ever in control of the game. He advocates total anarchy.

No comment from Gus on Walker's 10 for his retaliating? Interesting too that Gus had felt that it was criminal for a sin bin for tripping. He did say a couple of seasons ago that a trip should be a mandatory 150 points.

Gus is all over the shop.Every one of the sin bins on Friday night was justified ,provided you pay attention to the rules. It appears both Gus,Joey Johns and Vautin wanted a bit of flexibility for finals ,a bit more" feel for the game",seriously as if experienced referees don't have a feel for the game, else they'd be pinging every extremely minor issue in the game, committed by players. We'd have a chess match. It doesn't take a Rhode's Scholar to guess why Channel 9's Tv ratings have dropped, a tired old commentating approach, a deluge of negativity throughout games by a couple of the team. This organisation is supposedly the home of Rugby League, yet wants to offload a Sydney team for another Brisbane one, and accentuates the negatives more so than the positives ,and has a dinosaur approach to bending the rules.Their promotion of the game on TV is barely visible.

3 years ago Gould said tripping had no place in the game & the judiciary needed to get tough. Cue Hargreaves trip, they got tough & Gus Fould does an olympic backflip and whinges about the suspension. I thought Rabs Warren was the only one going senile.

Fully agree Con, its very hard listening to Gus as his 'modus operandi' is all over the shop but, there is something that needs to be done, the rules have gone all over the shop too and its becoming a farst, as we all know!

Also from Gus: I'll rip the NRL to shreds on Channel 9 until they relent and give me a six figure salary to fix up the "mess" (because I am the only one who can fix it), then when I f''k things up I'll blame someone else.

Shuddup, Gus! The modus operandi of Channel 9's commentators (well, mainly Gould, Joey and Vautin). "Cmon ref, that's not a penalty! They've given 10 penalties in the half! That's too many! The refs have no feel for the game! They're not letting the game flow! This is a disgrace! This is ruining the game! This is a farce!" Three weeks later: "C'mon ref, that's a penalty! They're letting the players get away with murder in the ruck! They've only given 2 penalties in the entire half! That's not enough! How can a side not give away a SINGLE penalty in a half! That's not possible! The refs have no feel for the game! They're not letting the game flow! This is a disgrace! This is ruining the game! This is a farce!"

So over all this negativity from old men. I know it is hard for them to let go of all that power and influence but sometimes time just makes you irrelevant.
