The GWS Giants will look to continue their charge towards a finals spot, while the Carlton Blues need to win to keep their hopes alive. Join The Roar for live scores from 7:10pm (AEST).

After a woeful fortnight that looked to have put their finals chances to bed, the Giants rebounded with a thumping win over Fremantle last week that – coupled with favourable results elsewhere – has them well and truly in the hunt once more. They still sit in ninth and need other results to go their way, but they’ll back themselves to get it done.

Carlton, on the other hand, had a golden chance to put one foot in the finals. Unfortunately, they failed to kick a goal in the second half against Collingwood, turning an eight-point halftime lead into a potentially season-ending loss. They can’t afford any more slipups.

GWS have dominated the Blues of late, winning six of their last seven meetings – the only loss being by a solitary point. The last two meetings have been particularly brutal, with the men in orange prevailing by 105 points in 2018 and 93 points last season.

Is Paddy Cripps playing injured? I know he had de Boer but those inside players are harder to tag, he did not seem right.

Delusional. They'd have scored fewer points under Lyon

Giants kicked into third gear in the last quarter. Carlton had lots of entries but a lack of class on those entries and some good defence from the Giants showed the gap between the teams.

Trade McGovern Dow Finish up Betts Simpson Murphy . The worst loss all year - to only score 1 goal in 3 Qtrs of football is absolutely not up to standard Carlton would be better off in the A League.

2018 might have been the Dees best chance but the Blues will have to wait another year to find out if they are on track or just kidding themselves.

There is nothing worse than rooting for the underdogs who are no good and will lose.

Are Carlton and Melbourne even relevant anymore? Are any of their rebuilds ever going to result in anything?

Only watched, what, a quarter of that game. That was enough for me. Don't think you can take much out of that for the Giants, but Carlton just shot themselves in the foot in terms of finals chances...
