After an eventful opening day, Australia resume hostilities with Pakistan as they look to put on a substantial first-innings total. Join The Roar for live scores and commentary from 10:30am (AEST).

Pakistan will be disappointed that their top order failed to cash in and ensure the hosts would be batting at stumps on day one. They can thank Aamer Jamal and Mir Hamza for still remaining in the contest, the latter’s half-century and an 86-run partnership for the last wicket taking them to 313.

Australia started brilliantly with the ball, but some poor tactics to the tail have made things harder than they should be. That being said, this SCG pitch is a belter for batting and the hosts should cash in over the next couple of days with the bat.

I’ve asked this before, but what is the RR number shown on the Roar scorecard? It’s definitely not run rate. I’ve tested this with the online calculator several times ????. Runs divided by overs right ?

Hope you listened to Simon Taufel's explanation. It would do you well to be informed rather than just piling on for the sake of it.

Bugger. Sad day, but seemed inevitable. Poor Sydney. At least Warner went earlyish, always a silver lining.

OFFICIAL: Stumps have been called. It's been a frustrating day after 40+ overs were bowled before bad light and rain halted play. Hopefully we can still get a result in what has been an exciting Test so far. This is Arnab Bhattacharya signing off. I will be back for days three and four. Goodbye

Rain has washed out the day, time to take the dog for a walk. And I live 5km from the ground. Go figure.

Happy to give it a try, but cancel after 1 year if they still get more to 1 or 2 bbl games than the test
