The NRL season starts today in the best possible way, with the Manly Warringah Sea Eagles taking on the South Sydney Rabbitohs at Allegiant Stadium in the bright lights of Las Vegas. Join The Roar for live scores and commentary from 1:30pm (AEDT).

The season-opening double-header at Allegiant Stadium on Saturday (Sunday AEDT) loom as the most-hyped regular season games in years, with players comparing the build up to grand final week.

More than 40,000 tickets have been sold for the event, with the NRL hopeful up to 50,000 could attend if locals pile in late.

The Sea Eagles have taken the most direct route to the match.

They flew straight into Las Vegas on Wednesday last week and have trained solely in the city, making use of a secondary field and using the UFC headquarters for gym work.

He's an integral part of this team and will be missed. His speed and positional play is something both Turbo and DCE regularly rely on.

they wouldn’t beat the Tigers, How very dare you, sir! My Tigers are undefeated at losing! We could too be beaten by the Rabbitohs! (As much as I occasionally dare to dream otherwise after a few too many Kahlua and milks…)

Not so much rocks and diamonds, just doesn't play the 80 minutes

Yes, very true and don't mention Adam Reynolds as its just an absolute SHOCKER even talking about him especially seeing Ilias playing today and what Reyolds will bring in the next game for the Bronx. If the Bunnies don't wake up and have a real go in 2024 all year, it will be the last year that they will be a real contender in the NRL for a long time!

Just get rid of the welter of mistakes and they’ll go far

It’s a shame for sure but I’m confident that we can cover his wing spot for a few weeks. Beats losing Tom that’s for sure. :stoked:

Oh well them the breaks, the Bunnies always lose R1 every season  thats my excuse and I'll stick yo it. The first three rounds look pretty grim the way they played today, especially with the center pairing and defense out wide. They need to put Milne in there instead of Kennar until Jack is back. Very disappointing effort but the Bunnies will get better as the season goes on! Go Bunnies

Yes fully agree, he is very average, but for the life of me I don't know why they didn't put Milne there?

Your blokes just look a couple of quality players short at the moment and yes Wighton and Graham would add heaps to their strike and may be the answer. I will never understand them letting Adam Reynolds go when they did… they’ve missed him immeasurably over the last couple of years

Sometimes prayers are answered. I’ve been really crook the last couple of months and so switched to the Marlborough lights to conserve my strength. This miracle has rejuvenated me. Back into the full strength reds from right now. Don’t feel so bad about killing that bottle of JW Black since this morning now . I knew there was going to be something to celebrate ! Great start for the Boys. Bad luck to the Souths men here. Just slipped away.

I only got to see the 2nd half and was most impressed with Manly. Their commitment was too much for Souths. Latrell is a rocks and diamonds player who needs more diamonds and more effort. As good as he is he does make mistakes too often. The last try to Kennar was a sympathy try by the bunker.

The last 30 minutes was really good. Clean with the ball, and looked dangerous in attack. Hopefully Saab's injury isn't too bad, because taking his speed and leap off that wing takes a big part of our attack away.

Kennar is a real weakness for the bunnies. They need someone else out wide.

Well done Manly. Great comeback effort. Whatever will Mike do with his PR now? Love the Eagles but admires the Bunnies. I guess they will be 2/3 - in no particular order.

Definitely encouraged by Manly’s performance but gee the mistakes were awful and need to be addressed. Souths were not great and yet remained competitive for most of the game. They need Wighton back asap and a new half back. If not for Latrell and Cook it may have been a bloodbath. That last try decision to Kennar was extremely ropey  it had consolation prize written all over it
