You mean Taylor of course? Coal Train would complete the full set of vintage back rowers.

Maroons star under Origin injury cloud as nagging calf complaint causes concern

Through unbiased eyes the bunker official was a drop kick 😛

Joey adamant NSW were robbed after 'little snick' missed leads to Bunker's knock-on call, overturned try

Yes. Unfortunately Casey B has form. If an official can’t get a basic call like that right perhaps they ought not be in that position.

WATCH: 'No, no!' Joey bewildered as Bunker shuts down NSW Captain's Challenge... that was totally right

That’s the kind of confidence I like to hear. GO THE BLUES!

Why Origin I was already over before Suaalii send-off: Blues rose to the occasion statistically but lacked Maroons' intent

Agree 100% about lack of structure and attacking shape. But I can’t help thinking at some point that has to come back on the half. NSW had plenty of ball attacking position. And Nicho just looked lost. Maybe Moses won’t be any better at organising the team into something resembling attacking shapes. But I’m really hoping he is. It’s hard to imagine he could be much worse…

Maguire’s team overhaul strengthens Blues but their lack of cohesion is a major concern

So if Moses isn’t the next best 7 option after Cleary, who would you have picked for the series TB?

To be fair to both Reed And Trell they were actually both fifth man in… 😂

'Ready to go': Latrell Mitchell's perfect audition for Origin II as Souths stun Broncos

I think Murray was helping out a brother. Or maybe has had one head knock too many. The still on WWS site clearly shows Murray’s cheek compressed by Rikki’s shouder. Late, high, forceful, off the ball and no attempt to bend the back. We’re either serious about protecting players against CTE or we’re not.

'Ready to go': Latrell Mitchell's perfect audition for Origin II as Souths stun Broncos

If Walsh was playing and it was Latrell making that hit on Walsh off the ball would Billy have been equally happy with it?

Third man in being sinbinned has been a directive from the league for at least 5 years
Tell it to Reed Mahoney 😂 😂 😂

I don’t think it’s scapegoating. NSW totally lacked attacking shape. You have to assume that they did practice that in camp. If it doesn’t happen during the game that has to come down to the half. NSW had plenty of attacking field position and looked totally lost when they had it.

The beauty of Hynesight: What changes do the Blues need to make in Game 2?

I agree to a point. But am I naive to think the time they spent in training camp they were working on what their attacking plan would be, what shapes they would be running and where and when they would be running them? My assumption is that it’s the half and the captain’s job to make sure this actually happens during the game. Watching the game I saw no sign of Nicho trying to organise anything. NSW had a surprising amount of good field position. And seemed completely lost when they had it.

NRL News: Annesley admits another clanger, ref mic captures Gutho's blow-up, Galvin wants to 'get out' of Tigers

I rarely agree with GB 😛
But I have to go with him on this. The high contact in this tackle was accidental. While we obviously want to minimise dangerous contact, we will never be able to eliminate it. There will always be accidents in contact sports.

Why Joseph Suaalii’s headline moment of madness might be the saving of rugby league

Agree. Consistency is lacking. In the Dragons v Tigers game Lomax made a badly timed leap for a high ball, that was always going to take him into collision with Alaimalo. He takes out Alaimalo’s legs in the air, casing him to fall from significant height onto his head. Alaimalo is unconscious for longer than Walsh, and taken out of the game and unable to return. The outcome for Lomax? A penalty and on report. No sin bin. No send off. If we are arguing that you can’t do anything uncontrolled that results in injury, even if it is intended as a legal contest, without warranting a send-off, then Lomax should have been sent and suspended for 4 weeks.

It's rugby league, not the Thunderdome: You're a substandard human if you think Suaalii should've avoided send-off

Origin has never been played for more than 12 minutes with a player short. Qld may have been the better team and won anyway. We will never know. What we do know is that the odds of a team winning with one less player for 70 minutes are vanishingly small.

It's rugby league, not the Thunderdome: You're a substandard human if you think Suaalii should've avoided send-off

So by this logic Liam Martin should also have been sent off for his two identical tackles in which the ball runner didn’t slip?

Pretty crap headline. Lift your game.

Dally M to Origin dud: Nicho Hynes faces the most challenging 80 minutes of his career

Of the four back rowers selected, Young has most tries and line breaks. Second for run metres. Perhaps that’s what he brings?

Cobbo in the middle: How Queensland's bench stategy shapes up for a crazy last quarter only Origin could deliver

Between 05 and 13 NSW shuffled their pack more than a casino croupier. But you reckon they wouldn’t have picked the Dally M 2nd rower of the year or the starting 2nd rower from the most dominant club in the comp, and holder of the record for most tackles in a game? Not when they had the likes of Anthony Laffranchi. Comedy gold.

Copycat Blues keep trying to match Queensland's spirit - why that approach will never work

Paul Vautin – 13 Kangaroo tests (and captained his club and state).
Matt Sing – 14 Kangaroo games (and only the 6th player in RL history to score 150 tries).
Nate Myles – 9 appearances for Australia. Dally M 2nd rower of the year 2012.
Johnson – 1 Kangaroos cap. Starter for Storm for 7 years (during cap breach years) making finals every year and winning 3 minor premierships and 2 GFs (later stripped).
Ash Harrison never played for Australia (his spot filled by other Qld underdog nobodies like Sam Thaiday, Corey Parker and Dave Taylor). Though he did play every Origin from 2005 to 2013 – of which Qld only lost one – apparently despite Harrison’s lack of ability.
Keep holding on tight to that underdog status. 😂 😂 😂

Copycat Blues keep trying to match Queensland's spirit - why that approach will never work

The ACT literally is in NSW.

Copycat Blues keep trying to match Queensland's spirit - why that approach will never work

If that’s true where did DCE learn his? Hynes makes more tackles, for higher tackle effectiveness, concedes less line break causes and try causes than DCE.

The set of seven key issues Blues must tackle to ensure Maguire’s revamp isn't another Origin false dawn

Evidence please?

Copycat Blues keep trying to match Queensland's spirit - why that approach will never work

Most of the Qld side would not make the NSW team but they still win

Yeah, those duds Thurston, Smith, Cronk, Inglis, Webke, Slater, Lewis, Meninga, Lockyer, Sailor, Tuquiri, Tallis, Langer would never have got a jersey for NSW.

Copycat Blues keep trying to match Queensland's spirit - why that approach will never work

Edwards hasn’t been selected for his line breaking ability. If that was Madge’s main concern he would have selected Tedesco. Edwards has been selected for his run metres and involvement rate. As have most of the players selected. Qld have the players to ‘outflare’ NSW. NSW don’t have those players available and in form this year. So Madge had picked a squad to ‘out effort’ Qld. From his selections (perhaps with the exception of not selecting Burton to partner either Hynes or Luai in the halves) he has selected a squad that is pretty obviously aimed at a game plan to drive the Maroons to their end of the park and keep them there.
