Adelaide spearhead Kurt Tippett has rejected the overtures of the Gold Coast AFL club to re-sign with the Crows for a further three years.
Tippett’s retention was announced by Adelaide club chairman Rob Chapman at the outset of the Crows’ end of season awards night.
The Gold Coast expansion club was intent on signing Queensland-raised Tippett, one of the league’s most promising forwards.
However Tippett has gradually leaned closer to staying beyond the 2010 conclusion of his current deal.
He is clearly keen to taste premiership success with the team that first recruited him to AFL ranks.
Midfielder Bernie Vince took out the Crows’ club champion award from small forward Jason Porplyzia.
Hard-working midfielder Brad Symes was named best team man.

That’s a shame actually. The Gold Coast has produced some real talent and it should be running around in 2011 for GC17.

The real shame would have been if Tippett left the club that gave him a chance at AFL level for a few extra bucks…..who cares if he comes from Queensland?…..it’s a national competition with all players selected in a national draft from ALL corners of the country.
GC17 is being gifted massive concessions in the draft system to ensure their success…….why let them have the talent other teams have developed too?
Good On Tippett for doing what is right by his club and mates
…..not to mention us supporters
….GO CROWS !!!
