This is purely hypothetical. It is not meant to offend, it is meant to provoke discussion and personally lead to a great after work drinks discussion at the pub.

After a painful night of watching girly TV with the wife, a question came to me and after asking a few mates (with hilarious explanations) I put it to you.

Gun to your head, which clubs would you move, merge and kill off.

And why?

Personally, I would move the Wests Tigers, merge the Bulldogs and Parramatta and kill off the Roosters.

I’d move Wests full time to Campbelltown, just because I’m an old Western Suburbs Magpies fan. Pretty simple, right? Get them playing in black and white again.

Next I’d merge Canterbury and Parramatta, to make a massive western Sydney super club.

With Wests now full time in the south west, the inner west all the way to Parramatta is now theirs alone.

And kill the Roosters, because I don’t think they bring much to the NRL.

They have no juniors and a habit of buying players from other clubs. Other than that, I generally I just don’t like them.

Some of my mates answers were just as deep, from killing off Manly because no one likes Manly to moving the Storm to Brisbane because they’re pretty much a Queensland team anyway.

So what do you think? Gun to your head, you have to choose which NRL sides to move, merge and murder.

Who would you pick?
