Rumours continue to swirl about the future of Krisnan Inu at Belmore. There have been unconfirmed rumours surrounding the Bulldogs player, all speculative of course.

Yet there has been no suggestion of him re-signing with the Canterbury club after 2015.

An inside source says a change in code will be happening, with the Kiwi international and superstar centre allegedly eyeing the Waratahs squad.

It is not confirmed if Inu might try his hand in union at the end of his contract or at the end of the 2014 season, but the 27-year-old’s decision to switch codes and apply his skills to rugby union may pay off.

Obviously it’s not definitive, but could Inu switch codes successfully?

Apart from getting more money, would Inu be changing into the game at too late of an age?

What is the most prominent factor in players making this switch so late in their career?

It’s no longer uncommon for players to make the move from rugby league to rugby union anymore. People will speculate that the financial benefit it the key motivator and drive for Inu, if he decides to switch codes.

For one, nothing is beyond Inu. He has incredible drive and is a fantastic professional. But people are forgetting that it’s the attitude of these players and their natural talent that matter. To attempt the switch, you need players of the highest character and drive, not players looking for a bigger pay check.

It will be interesting to see how big the money contract will be. On the other hand, maybe it’s not about the money, maybe rugby league is just underselling itself.
