Chile too like to play on the break but they had to take the game to the Dutch in search of a win. But Holland were too solid at the back and Robben, yet again, very dangerous on the break, nearly scoring himself before setting up Memphis in the second half with a great run and low cross that was turned into the net by the young Dutch star.
FINAL SCORE:
Netherlands 2
Chile 0

Holland and Chile will be very keen to avoid Brazil in the knockout stages. As a result, both teams should be expected to come out and chase a win.
A draw for the Dutch would be enough to seal top spot, given their superior goal difference over Chile. If they play for a draw however, Holland will most likely lose tonight given how well Chile are playing.
Chile were very impressive in their 2-0 win over Spain and are beginning to firm as a contender to win the World Cup, especially if they can avoid Brazil in the knockout stages.
The Chileans play with plenty of intensity and move the ball around very quickly, as evidenced by the first goal they scored against Spain.
Alexis Sanchez and Eduardo Vargas will cause a young Dutch defence significant problems today. The Netherlands were lucky only to concede two goals against Australia but will be punished if they allow a more clinical Chile to dominate today.
For all their concerns at the back however, Holland do have their key players firing in attack. Arjen Robben and Robin van Persie have already scored three goals in the tournament and will hurt Chile on the counter, just like they did against Spain and Australia.
Defence remains Chile’s weak point, despite impressive performances from goalkeeper Claudio Bravo, and the Dutch certainly have the players upfront to punish Chile should they commit too many numbers forward.
With both teams blessed with firepower upfront, today’s contest promises to be one of the most entertaining games at the World Cup to date.
Chile have been buoyed by their massive fan-base in Brazil and should once again rise to the occasion and secure another win.
Chile to win 3-2.
