A six blitz from Twenty20 specialist Aiden Blizzard has led the Hobart Hurricanes to a vital six-wicket win over Cape Cobras at the T20 Champions League in India.

Blizzard smashed five sixes in his unbeaten 48-ball 78, as the Hurricanes sped to the victory target of 185, reaching 4-186 with an over to spare.

Blizzard carried on the good work laid out by opener Ben Dunk, who smashed ten boundaries in his crucial half century.

Earlier, paceman Ben Hilfenhaus celebrated his return to the national team with a pair of wickets, including that of the dangerous Hashim Amla (8), as the South African franchise posted 6-184.

Hilfenhaus, who has not played for Australia since December 2012, received a callup to the Test squad for next month’s three-Test series with Pakistan following the withdrawal of allrounder Shane Watson, who has a calf injury.

Ben Laughlin also claimed two wickets, while Doug Bollinger and Joe Mennie took one each.

The win keeps alive the Hurricanes’ hopes of advancing to the semi-finals of the lucrative competition, after they lost their opening encounter against the Kings XI Punjab.
