Matt Moylan’s fantastic season for Penrith has been rewarded with selection in the train-on squad for the Kangaroos Four Nations campaign and the Prime Minister’s XIII match against Papua New Guinea.
Fullback Moylan was a key figure in the Panthers’ surprise surge to the preliminary final and he has been long earmarked as a representative player of the future.
Following the Panthers’ 18-12 loss to the Bulldogs to end their 2014 NRL campaign on Saturday, Moylan was added to coach Tim Sheens’ squad alongside his Panthers teammates Josh Mansour and Adam Docker on Monday.
Sheens also added eight players from defending champions the Sydney Roosters who were bundled out of the NRL finals by South Sydney 32-22 in Friday’s preliminary final.
Rookie prop Dylan Napa has earned his first senior representative call-up alongside Roosters teammates Daniel Tupou, Michael Jennings, James Maloney, Mitchell Pearce, Boyd Cordner, Aiden Guerra and Jake Friend.
However the squad has been hit with more withdrawals, with James Tamou, Luke Lewis and Brett Stewart all pulling out through injury.
Three more players have withdrawn from the squad through injury. They are James Tamou, Luke Lewis and Brett Stewart.
The PM’s XIII Team will be announced later today.
