Everton and Aston Villa will be eager to get their seasons back on track when they meet at Goodison Park in Matchday 8 of the English Premier League. Join The Roar for live scores and commentary from 1:00am (AEDT).

Having won just once this season, Everton have work to do if their are to finish anywhere near where they did last season, and after the international break, they’ll be looking to kick-start their season against a Villa side that haven’t won in a month.

Everton have won four and drawn three of the last seven meetings of the two sides, including a 2-1 win the last time the two sides met at Goodison.

While Everton will be without their Belgian striker Romalu Lukaku, stretched off in the Merseyside derby, Villa will be hoping their own Belgian, Christian Benteke, can return to his goal-scoring form in place of the injured Gabby Agbonlahor.

Everton will also be without Slyvain Distin, Seamus Coleman and Gerard Deulofeu, while the visitors should welcome back Socceroo Chris Herd and Joe Bennett.

Villa are hungry for points and they’ll be buoyed by Everton’s poor home-form, having taken just one point from three homes games this season.

But Everton will have taken a lot of positives from their last-start loss at Old Trafford. Expect them to take all three points against a Villa side on the slide.

Join The Roar Sunday morning at 1:00am (AEDT) for score live scores and coverage.
