MATCH RESULT:

A dominant Arsenal go back to their top four form, however find themselves in sixth place two points behind a fourth place position, which West Ham United currently holds.

Arsenal went into half time up by one goal via a brilliant header from Giroud, and came out and put on a clinic in the second, scoring three goals. Cazorla, who hadn’t scored in twenty- nine league games, finds the net three times in two games including twice in this fxture.

Newcastle found the net via a header from Perez that came off a set piece against the run, but never really looked dangerous against the Gunners, one or two decent chances here or there that were shut down by the Gunners defence and keeper Szczesny was only really worked once, which came in the first half.

Arsenal are hoping to take this kind of form into their remaining fixtures, as they still aren’t positioned high enough on the table for a Champions League spot.

FINAL SCORE:
Arsenal 4
Newcastle 1

MATCH PREVIEW:

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has been under scrutiny as of late for the Gunner’s inconsistent results over the past few years, and many fans feel that his time as Arsenal’s manager has come to an end.

Wenger will be feeling the pressure over the remaining fixtures, and will be desperate to produce results.

After a disappointing 3-2 loss to Stoke City in the Gunners last fixture, which saw them go three goals down at half time, Arsenal need to make a statement if they wish to continue to be known as a top four side.

Arsenal have shown their inconsistency over their past few fixtures, winning three and losing three.

Key man Alexis Sanchez will be looking to find the net again, the Chilean superstar has scored nine goals thus far this season.

Arsenal will have to go up against Newcastle without Calum Chambers, who is suspended after receiving two yellow cards against Stoke City last week. However, Arsene Wenger’s defence will be boosted by the return of Mathieu Debuchy, who played his first game for the Gunners since his injury mid week in Arsenal’s 4-1 Champions League win over Galatasaray.

Newcastle United will travel to the Emirates on a high after being the first team to defeat league leaders Chelsea this season, and will be looking to take that momentum into the Arsenal game and produce another upset.

Alan Pardew will be hoping his side can produce another a win and edge closer to a securing themselves a potential place in European competition. Newcastle currently have the same points as Arsenal and sit one spot behind them on the table due to goal difference.

Despite momentum being on the side of the Magpies, the history is not, Newcastle has only beaten Arsenal once in their last fourteen Premier League games against the Gunners.

Newcastle will travel to the Emirates without Steven Taylor, who saw red after two yellow cards against Chelsea last week.

The last time these two teams faced off was back in April, when the Gunners defeated the Magpies in a dominant 3-0 victory.

Arsenal will be feeling the pressure, but after a dominant victory over Galatasaray, the Gunners have shown they still have the quality to produce results – it will just be a matter of using it.

My prediction: Arsenal 1 – 0 Newcastle United
