Leicester City enter Matchday 16 in last place on the Premier League ladder, and the prospect of rising any time soon is looking hopeless as they come up against last year’s champs, Manchester City. Join The Roar for live scores from 2:00am (AEDT).

With just two wins and 10 points to show for their campaign so far, Leicester City are looking down the barrel of relegation from the Premier League at seasons end, unless they can start to secure some results – fast!

But it will be a big challenge hosting the second placed, Manchester City – a side driven to close the current three-point gap to top spot.

City enter this match off the back of a confidence boosting 2-0 win against Roma in the Champions League – a win that saw them progress to the Round of 16.

Even more in their favour is the fact they secured the win without their most potent attacking force this season, Sergio Aguero. He’s been ruled out for the entire festive period after suffering a knee injury in his side’s 1-0 win against Everton.

Samir Nasri stepped up to the plate mid-week, putting the depth of City’s attacking stocks on full display with a rocket in the 60th minute to break the nil-all deadlock. With Aguero out, City will once again look to the classy Frenchman to find the back of the net today.

With Chelsea suffering their first loss of the season last start, City were able to close the gap on the league leaders to just three points. With Chelsea looking at a relatively safe win this week coming up against cellar-dwellers Hull, City will need to secure a win if they want to keep the pressure on, and potentially move into top spot over the busy Christmas stretch.

The last time these two side met was in the League Cup last year, with City securing a 3-1 win.

Can Leicester cause one of the upsets of the season? Or will Manchester City keep in check with Chelsea as they chase another Premier League title?

With Manchester City having not registered a loss, or even a draw, in over a month, it is looking like the favourite will be too good again today.

TIP: Manchester City 2-1 Leicester City
