The Big Bash League is back, with season 2014-15 about to begin! Now in its fourth season, the BBL broke all sorts of viewership records last year, and will be looking to do the same this year.

With the likes of Kevin Pietersen, Cameron White, Andrew Flintoff and Jaques Kallis looking to light up grounds across Australia, the fourth Big Bash League is shaping up to be an absolute belter.

It all kicks off Thursday night, 7:40pm AEDT at Adelaide Oval with Kieron Pollard and the Adelaide Strikers clashing with Glenn Maxwell and the Melbourne Stars.

TV:
The Big Bash League is the only major sporting league in Australia with all of its games being broadcast on free-to-air TV. Channel Ten has the exclusive broadcasting rights and will be showing all 35 games live on Ten and ONE.

All but one of the games are scheduled for prime time and it’s a jam packed fixture after Christmas – with 22 matches being played in 21 days.

Adam Gilchrist, Ricky Ponting, Mark Waugh, Damien Fleming and Sir Viv Richards will join forces for the BBL commentary team, while Andrew Flintoff and Kevin Pietersen will be making guest appearances.

For a number of games, Freddy and KP will be mic’d up on the field and have a helmet camera while batting – which, if the Ashes series is any indication, means you’ll get continuous footage of the night sky as Pietersen swings his bat around recklessly and with little regard for the context of the game.

Radio:
The Fairfax Radio network will be covering BBL04. Games will be aired to the markets of the teams playing.
