Match Result:

Real 1-1 Juventus

As predicted Juventus do enough to seal a Champions League final birth against FC Barcelona. Ronaldo scored a first half penalty and it looked like Real would go on with the job but Juventus stood firm and rose to the occasion in the second half.

Morata then scored the goal that changed everything and Pogba and Marchisio could have sealed the deal only to be denied by Casillas. Ronaldo’ reign as Balon d’ Or holder will end surely now. His future at the club in doubt…

The pressure is on Carlos Ancelotti and his team of Galacticos as they seek to knock out a Juventus outfit with its own fair share of world-class players.

Having secured a vital win in Turin, Juventus will qualify for the Champions League final if they draw against Real. A 3-2 or 4-3 defeat will also be enough for the Serie A giants to progress.

Real meanwhile will progress with a 1-0 victory after scoring an away goal last week. A 2-1 win in normal time will see tonight’s clash go into extra time.

All in all, both teams are very evenly matched and the margin for error for either side is very small. It may take a poor defensive error or a moment of magic to decide what should be a very tense affair.

Juventus will probably need an away goal to seal the deal, and in Carlos Tevez they certainly have the forward to punish a Real defence that is suspect on the counterattack.

Andrea Pirlo will need to improve his performance after misplacing several passes last week against Real. He needs to find support accurately tonight and not give away possession cheaply.

It will be interesting to see how Allegri uses Paul Pogba as well. The Frenchman scored in the Serie A last week and may be used as a trump card coming off the bench in the second half. His fitness and skill could prove vital against Madrid.

For Real to progress, the usual suspects must fire. Cristiano Ronaldo, James Rodriguez and Gareth Bale are the keys to securing another appearance in the final for Los Blancos. If they are kept quite, Juventus will progress.

Juventus and Real to draw 1-1.
