With usual host Curtis Woodward out of commission, it’s up to me to pick up the scraps after a long night of Origin.

That’s okay though, because I can bask in the fact that the tippers were startlingly awful in my guest appearance.

That said, I do hope they can rebound this week, to lend some credibility back to the project!

Here are this week’s tips from your experts, with Tim Gore the only person to get above two last week going first.

Also, Ryan O’Connell gets 50% off his tips this week, for not giving me any comments, just bare naked tips.

Tips:
Sea Eagles, Cowboys, Warriors, Bulldogs, Knights, Broncos, Roosters

Sea Eagles to win as the Wests Tigers won last week.

The Cowboys to push their winning streak to 11 against the Raiders. The Warriors to narrowly beat the Titans. The Bulldogs will beat the luckless Panthers.

Knights and sharks… Flip a coin. Knights I guess.

Broncos look too good right now and the Storm just don’t. Roosters to beat the Dragons.
Powerplay is on the Cowboys.

The land of spray tans and Ray Bans somehow has a team sitting in the top eight. Yeah I know, I’ve been adjusting my set all week too.

But credit where it’s due; after blowing the Class-A dust off the Titans and putting the franchise’s pants back on, Neil Henry deserves to have a waterslide named after him. But how will his team fare with a smidge of expectation against a team that’s as fulfilling as a rice cake?

The aroma of a Warriors ambush is on the breeze, but Henry and his Supernanny ways have earned at least one week of respect from me.

I’m also quite turned on by the prospect of the Cowboys taking on the Raiders, mainly because I love to see a good team tested while Ricky Stuart kicks plastic chairs. This one is tougher than it looks and it will be at the mercy of Origin sicknotes, but the Cowboys have been edging towards a cleansing loss in recent weeks, so I’m going to give the Raiders one more chance for the third time this year.

Then as selected after three spins blindfolded, the Sea Eagles, Bulldogs, Sharks, Broncos and Dragons will take the respective cakes. Quick shout out to Parra too- rounds of footy just don’t seem to be as much fun when you’re not around.

Who will back up and who won’t out of Origin is the question. Friday night begins this round with one game being the Sea Eagles versus the Tigers. Taupau went KAPOW for the Tigers last week but I am tipping the Sea Eagles in this because of the Brookvale graveyard factor.

The Raiders versus the Cowboys should be a high scoring quality game. With so many key Cowboy players backing up from SOO I am tipping the Raiders to win, in a close one. The Titans versus the Warriors is a coin toss. The Warriors are consistently disappointing but there is too much calls and power in there team. With little confidence I am tipping them to beat the Titans. The Bulldogs have not named any of their SOO players but I still expect them to edge out the Panthers who remain decimated by injury.

The Knights versus the Sharks begins Sunday football and I am tipping the home ground advantage to prevail with the Knights coming away with the win. The Storm versus the Broncos will depend on who backs op best after SOO and I am tipping the Broncos to continue their strong from and come away with the win. Finally the Dragons face the Roosters. I have been crowing about the Roosters all year and expect them to be strong for the Dragons.

My power play for the week is the Roosters.

“Backing a few upsets this weekend and they start on Friday night at Brookvale. I was so impressed by the Tigers last Friday that I think they have what it takes to beat the struggling Eagles.

“Going with the Raiders in Canberra against the red-hot Cowboys who may have a little State of Origin hangover.

“The Warriors are the new North Sydney Bears, stealing defeat from the jaws of victory, Titans to win up there. Saturday night footy finishes with the Bulldogs and Panthers at ANZ Stadium. Canterbury get their Origin stars back and will be too strong for Penrith.

“Newcastle are due and get a chance against the Sharkies, Storm to down the Broncos in a tight one and the Dragons to finish the round with a win over the Sydney Roosters.”
