The Gold Coast Titans got an important win last weekend, and they’ll be looking to keep momentum up when they take on the New Zealand Warriors at Cbus Super Stadium. Join The Roar for live scores and commentary from 5:30pm AEST.

It’s been an interesting season on the Gold Coast, with the club just hanging on to a Top 8 position at this point of the year. After starting the year 1-3 (including a horrific 40-0 loss to the Panthers), the Titans took three contests in a row, and looked to have their season back on track. They’ve gone 2-3 since that point, but they’ll be looking for a third win in a row this weekend. Last weekend saw a strong win over a depleted Bulldogs side.

It’s been an equally inconsistent season in New Zealand, as they also have six wins, but are behind the aforementioned Titans on for-and-against. They’ve lost two in a row coming into this clash, including a heart-breaker to the Roosters at home last weekend. They had won three in a row before that point, so it’s hard to get a read on their form at the moment.

The Titans have named Nate Myles to return from Origin duty, meaning that Eddy Pettybourne will take his spot in the number 13 jersey. Lachlan Burr is pushed back to the bench, while Ben Ridge and Matt Robinson trade places between the starting 13 and the interchange. Kieren Moseley will miss this game with injury, while Dave Taylor has been named as the 18th man.

The Warriors will get two Origin stars back for this game, with Jacob Lillyman and Ryan Hoffman both set to line up for the club. Albert Vete is the unlucky man, as he drops back to the 18 jersey. Raymond Faitala-Mariner comes onto the bench for the injured Sam Lisone, while Siliva Havili also comes into the side to replace Jonathan Wright.

The two teams met earlier this season, with the Titans recording a 32-28 win in Auckland.

Prediction

It’s hard to read either sides form at this point, which makes this game very tough to pick. The Titans have played some good football over the past couple of weeks, and the home field should be enough to get them over the line. Just.
