Joanna Jedrzejczyk will look to defend her UFC Women’s Strawweight belt for the first time when she takes on Jessica Penne in Berlin, Germany. Join us on The Roar from 5am AEST for live round-by-round updates and commentary.
Just three months after her beautiful destruction of former Women’s Strawweight title holder Carla ‘Cookie Monster’ Esparza (10-3), Joanna Jedrzejczyk will look to defend her title for the first time in Berlin.
Jedrzejczyk, who is a Muay Thai world champion, is undefeated in her MMA career and has been on a tear since her UFC debut in June of last year which has culminated in her UFC title win last March.
The last time Jedrzejczyk fought in front of a European crowd she knocked out former Cage Warriors champion Rosi Sexton with a punch in the second round, and she will be looking to please her fans in yet another dominant performance.
Currently riding a two-fight winning streak, #3 Jessica Penne (12-3) will be looking to silence the O2 Arena Berlin and hand champion Jedrzejczyk the first loss of her professional career.
Coming off a first-round submission win over Nicdali ‘The Night Queen’ Rivera-Calanoc (8-8) and a decision win over Randa ‘Quiet Storm’ Markos (5-2) in her UFC debut in December last year, Penne has shown that she is ready for a shot at UFC gold.
Prediction:
The champion Jedrzejczyk has a clear stand up advantage, and if she can keep the fight on the feet she should be able to pick apart Penne and end the fight before the championship rounds.
Jedrzejczyk via KO/TKO R3
