It’s a NSW derby as Sydney FC and the Newcastle Jets search for three priceless points at Allianz, with both sides winless in their last four outings. Join The Roar for all the action from 7:40pm (AEDT).

These two clubs have only managed one goal between them over the past fortnight.

The Sky Blues have played out back-to-back stalemates, while the Jets have registered three draws on the trot, having fought back bravely against Brisbane last weekend.

Few would’ve predicted the Jets to be pushing for a finals spot eight rounds into this season, but they currently sit fifth on the ladder, just one point behind the Sky Blues.

No doubt Jets coach Scott Miller will be eager to get one back at Allianz after a late Alex Brosque goal saw the Sky Blues nick all three points when these two sides met back in Round 2.

Milos Trifunovic is returning from injury for the Jets. The Serbian has had a fast start to the season, having notched up four goals in seven appearances, and could be a threat to the Sydney defence.

The Jets will have to contend with an experienced front line brought together by Sydney, with Alex Brosque and Shane Smeltz the biggest concern. They will look to play their way through Newcastle’s tight defence.

Watch out for Sydney’s Alex Gersbach. As he won the NAB Young Footballer of the Year nomination for November.

Graham Arnold promised to build from the back this season and Sydney FC boast the league’s best defensive record, conceding a miserly six goals.

Will it be the boys in blue take this game, or will the Jets steal the show and put themselves into the top four?

Join The Roar from 7:40pm (AEDT) to find out.
