Unless you have been living under a rock, you have probably heard about Stephen Curry and what he has been doing in the basketball world.

From shooting threes from a few steps inside the half-court line to dribbling through crowds of defenders, Curry has been doing it all for the Golden State Warriors.

Last season he took the NBA by storm and won the regular season MVP and the NBA championship. Somehow Curry has taken his game to another level this season, but just how dominant has he been?

Let’s take a look.

First of all, let’s dive into some basic stats. Curry leads the league in points per game with 32.5. Only one player, Kevin Durant, has averaged more than 30 points per game for a season in the last seven campaigns.

Curry has hit 125 three-point field goals in 24 games this season. If he keeps this sort of shooting up, he is on track to finish the season with over 425 three-pointers for the season. The record for most threes in a season is 286. Let that just sink in a little. Oh, and guess who holds that current record? That’s right, Curry.

It’s no surprise that he shoots the most three-pointers per game in the league, but he also has the second-best three-point shooting percentage, shooting at a remarkable 46.3 per cent rate. The player who leads the league in three-point percentage, Kawhi Leonard, doesn’t shoot half the amount of threes per game that Curry does.

Curry has also made strides on the other side of the court. He is far from becoming an elite defender and likely never will, but he does rack up 2.2 steals per game which ranks him in the top five in the league in that category.

Now to the advanced stuff. The baby-faced assassin leads the league in win shares, which is the estimated number of wins contributed by a player. He already has 6.3 in 24 games. LeBron James had 10.4 win shares for the entire 2014-2015 season.

Player Efficiency Rating (PER) is a measure of per-minute production. Steph’s PER is 33.81 and yes, that is the highest PER from anyone in the league this season.

To put that rating into perspective, LeBron has been tearing the league apart for the past decade and the highest PER he has recorded for an entire season was 31.76 in 2008-2009, the season where he earned his first MVP award.

Finally, when Curry is on the court the Warriors score an unbelievable 120 points per 100 possessions. When he is off, they score 105 points per 100 possessions.

Curry is red hot favourite to secure the MVP award and his team are picked to win the championship in consecutive years, the question is just how good is this guy going to get?
