Match result:

After being dominated for the majority of the game, Manchester United found a way to steal all three points at Anfield.

Henderson, Lallana and Firmino created the best chances for the Reds in both halves, but failed to find the net despite their best efforts.

United keeper David De Gea will receive most of the credit, the man between the sticks played brilliantly for the Red Devils, denying Liverpool on multiple occasions.

Against the run of play, Manchester won a corner and Fellaini found the crossbar, however Liverpool’s luck would run out there as Wayne Rooney smashed the ball into the back of the net to give United the lead.

Liverpool pushed and pushed, bu they could not find the net.

The final score at Anfield, Liverpool 0, Manchester United 1.

After a thrilling 3-all draw against then-top-of-the-table Arsenal at home in their last fixture, Jorgen Klopp’s Liverpool side will be confident against a Manchester United side that has fallen well below expectation this season.

Roberto Firmino gave the Reds the lead twice in the first half, however in the end Liverpool were forced to fight for a draw as Joe Allen saved the day for Jorgen Klopp and salvaged a point in the dying moments of the game.

Coming off two hard-fought draws, and booked to play another eight games this month alone, Liverpool will be keen for a big result against a big side.

Sixth on the Premier League table, Manchester United know a win is vital to bring them closer to the top four.

The Red Devils are also coming off a thrilling 3-all draw in their last fixture, where they faced Newcastle United away from home at St. James’ Park.

Louis van Gaal’s men gave up a 2-nil lead and a 3-2 lead as Paul Dummett snatched three points away from Manchester United in the 90th minute, forcing the sides to share the spoils.

Despite the poor result in the end, the Red Devils will enter Anfield confident, as they have managed to defeat Liverpool away from home 11 times, more than any other club.

The last time these two sides played was in September last year. The Red Devils ran over the Reds in spectacular fashion with Daley Blind, Ander Herrera and Anthony Martial all finding the net in the second half to give Manchester United the 3-1 win.

Both sides need a win, and are coming off games with lots of goals. If both teams can stay on target, it should be another thrilling contest.

Prediction: Liverpool 2 – 2 Manchester United
