Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors will host Kevin Durant and the Oklahoma City Thunder. Join The Roar for live scores of the match from 1pm (AEDT).

With both teams in some excellent form, and some of the best shooters in the NBA on the floor, it promises to be an absolute cracker of a match.

The Warriors come into this game having won eight in a row. While many were against low-ranked opposition, wins on the road against the Cleveland Cavaliers and Chicago Bulls and at home against the San Antonio Spurs and Dallas Mavericks will be filling them with confidence moving forward.

They still lead the Western Conference, 3.5 games ahead of the Spurs with a record of 45 wins and four losses.

The Thunder meanwhile, are in even better form. Having won five in a row, and 12 of their last 13 it is rare that they have looked like losing a game. The one loss they had, came as a real shock, going down to the Brooklyn Nets on the road.

Wins against the Houston Rockets, Miami Heat and Dallas Mavericks have all been hard fought though.

They sit third on the Western Conference ladder, eight games back from the Warriors with a record of 38 wins and 13 losses.

The key battle in this game, is without a doubt that of the point scorers. Kevin Durant and Stephen Curry are two of the best in the competition, if not the best. Curry has the amazing ability to peal off shots from any position on the court. Regardless, which ever player gets the better of this battle should take their team a long way towards a victory.

The other X-Factor player is Russell Westbrook. He will be undoubtedly guarded by Curry, and his ability to create for teammates, and know when to go for himself, has left him averaging double double stats for the season.

The teams are yet to meet this season, with plenty of action between the two teams between now and the end of the season. That really makes this quite an important game, as they try to set up the momentum over each other for those future games.

In last years’ season series, the Warriors managed to take a three games to one victory over the Thunder.

Prediction
The Warriors haven’t lost a game on their home court yet this season, and Curry, if he plays as we know he can do gives them the edge in this one. Should be a cracker of a game though.

Warriors by 5 in overtime.
