Liverpool approach another Merseyside derby against Everton full of confidence following a good run of form. Join The Roar for live scores from 5am (AEST).

It has been a memorable past week for Liverpool fans, with their club securing wins against Borussia Dortmund and Bournemouth in the Europa league and Premier League respectively.

As a result, Liverpool start strong favourites against an Everton side that has underperformed all season, despite the exploits of Romelu Lukaku.

The Toffees are currently on a six-match winless run in the Premier League, as the pressure continues to rise on manager Roberto Martinez. The Merseyside derby presents Everton a grand stage to finally rediscover their form, but anything less than their best will see the Reds run out convincing winners.

On form, Liverpool are enjoying their best run under manager Jurgen Klopp, and are beginning to replicate the style of Klopp’s great Dortmund team.

The only player in Everton’s line-up that could cause trouble is Lukaku, who continues to perform strongly in an underperforming side. If the Belgian is kept quiet however, Liverpool should beat Everton comfortably.

Liverpool strikers Roberto Firmino and Daniel Sturridge will test a suspect Everton defence. If either is allowed time in possession in the area, the goals will flow.

At Anfield, Liverpool should play at a high tempo in a bid to unsettle Everton. Klopp is slowly but surely reshaping his team into a unit capable of playing a high pressing game.

Given Everton’s woes at the back, Liverpool’s pressure from the get go will most likely unsettle the Toffees’ back four.

Prediction
Although issues regarding consistency remain, the Reds should secure another good win.

Liverpool to win 3-0.
