WATCH: Todd Greenberg speaks on Parramatta Eels salary cap decision

NRL CEO Todd Greenberg fronted the media on Tuesday following news breaking that the Parramatta Eels would be fined $1 million and docked 12 competition points for breaches to their salary cap.

Greenberg said the Eels “breached the salary cap in five of six seasons, and as we sit here we believe the club are over the salary cap for 2016.”

He went on to affirm “This has to stop, and it stops now.”

The deduction of 12 competition points places the Eels on the bottom of the ladder, however with 17 matches remaining in the season, they are still a mathematical chance to make the finals.
