It was another tough, uncompromising Origin encounter between New South Wales and Queensland with the Maroons clinching a two-point win.

Here’s the key moments of the match as witnessed by The Roar’s live blogger Scott Pryde.

7th minute – The Blues start the set right on halfway and Josh Morris drops the ball trying to tap it!

14th minute – Queensland receive a penalty right in front of the posts and Jonathan Thurston takes the kick. QUEENSLAND 2-0

25th minute – The Blues bring it back from a drop out through Tamou. Gallen goes left and goes nowhere before Woods has a run inside 20. Maloney goes all the way to the line now, running a beautiful angle and throws a flat, suspect looking ball for Cordner who goes straight through and scores! Conversion unsuccessful NSW 4-2

37th minute – Thurston turns a ball under for McGuire and then an offload popped for Paplii who is a hard one to put down right there. Last play and they run it down the right, from Thurston, onto Boyd then O’Neill and a ball to Gagai who is in space! He will score in the corner. Everyone expecting a kick, Thurston and Cronk on the same side and a great bit of work from the Maroons. QUEENSLAND 6-4

50th minute – The Blues backs bring it up before a big run from Klemmer into Morgan and he is not in a good way. The Blues head left to Moylan who can’t get through and a poor kick on the last allows Oates to take it in goal. Seven tackle set.

57th minute – The Maroons look to be just hanging in here as the Blues muscle up and only a run to the left from Parker gets them outside 20. Inglis with a big kick down the ground which is allowed to bounce and Ferguson brings it back.

60th minute – Some great play from Queensland as Parker, McGuire and Thurston all go close. They look a bit lost before Cronk grubbers and a pass goes across to Josh Morris in goal who almost spills it, does spill it and manages to ground it. Drop out.

62nd minute – Guerra comes back to within 30 from the drop out before Thaiday goes for the quick play the ball and has fumbled this! Massive let off for New South Wales.

65th minute – The Blues go right from Bird to Fifita before he is taken by Thaiday. Farah goes from dummy half and passes a ball to Morris who is going to claim a try! Bunker and the on-field ruling is try!

However, Bernard Sutton believes there is enough evidence to show Morris didn’t get the ball over. No try is the ruling.

66th minute – The Blues will have one play and they go straight to Reynolds who kicks left, the ball has come down, bobbled out and it has been called a knock on against Queensland! What a decision. Wait a minute, the decision has now been REVERSED and the ruling is it came off the shoulder of O’Neil so wasn’t a knock-on.

78th minute – The Maroons come into the middle through Oates and then Myles who is back on the field for the first time in a long time with a strong run. They go left and Gillett gets over halfway. This is a very smart kick on the last from Cronk, putting it into touch.

79th minute – The Blues are out of petrol here but can they produce something? Reynolds comes away from the scrum before Bird and Gallen have runs. Gallen with a pass to Maloney who finds Cordner and he looks to pass but if taken to ground by Gillett. Walker with a run and he is taken on halfway.

Walker has dropped it playing the ball!

80th minute – Last play and Thurston beats one and then out of a tackle, that is a fantastic grubber kick! Absolutely brilliant and Ferguson can’t get out of the in goal.

FULL-TIME – The Blues attempt the short restart, can’t get the ball back after some brilliance by Dane Gagai.
Game over. No points in the second half. QUEENSLAND WIN 6-4
