Fight preview:

UFC middleweight champion Luke Rockhold will be looking to defend his title for the first time when he takes on #4 Michael Bisping at UFC 199. Also, the bantamweight title is on the line as champion Dominick Cruz takes on #2 Urijah Faber in a rubber-match. Join The Roar from 12pm AEST for live round-by-round action.

Coming off the biggest win of his life when he won the middleweight belt from Chris Weidman at UFC 194, Luke Rockhold is now riding a five-fight winning streak.

With finishes in all five of his UFC wins, Rockhold has solidified himself as one of the most dangerous strikers and submission artists in the division.

Rockhold also holds a win over title-contender Michael Bisping, whom he defeated in 2014 with guillotine choke in Sydney.

Since his 2014 loss to Luke Rockhold, Michael Bisping has been on a tear of his own, coming off three-straight wins over top competition.

No win was sweeter however than his last, where he defeated fighting legend Anderson Silva to achieve the biggest win of his career in front of his home audience.

Now, after ten long years with the UFC, Bisping is set to get his first ever title shot, and pull of the greatest Cinderella Story in the history of the company.

After a long layoff due to injury, Dominick Cruz came back and won the belt he never lost against TJ Dillashaw in a close split decision.

Now, he has the chance to put the only man who ever beat him behind him once and for all and end an epic nine-year rivalry with Urijah Faber on top.

Urijah Faber has come so close yet so far on three occasions, losing all three of his UFC title shots. This one may be his last.

With three straight wins at bantamweight, Faber’s toughest loss came at the hand of Dominick Cruz in 2011, and he too will be desperate to end the rivalry on top.

Luke Rockhold is hungry, in his prime and a proven finisher. Rockhold already holds a win over Michael Bisping, but Bisping will be coming in desperate to grasp the title that eluded him for so long. Expect Rockhold to get the job done, but it won’t be as easy as the first time.

Dominick Cruz has seemingly put his injuries behind him, and looks like the same fighter he always was. Urijah Faber has been impressive, but his recent performances have made him look like a shadow of his own self. If Cruz doesn’t allow Faber to get a hold of his neck, he should cruise to a decision win.

Predictions
Luke Rockhold defeats Michael Bisping via TKO in the third round

Dominick Cruz defeats Urijah Faber via unanimous decision
