Richmond are coming off the bye round and have won four of their previous matches while the Lions are looking to bounce back from their heavy defeat at the hands of the West Coast Eagles.

Both teams are in the midst of a disappointing AFL campaign with the Lions just narrowly ahead of the Essendon Bombers at the bottom of the ladder while the Tigers are sitting in 13th.

The Tigers will want to keep the winning up if they are any chance of making the finals and a big win over the Lions may help set that up before they go to Adelaide and face the Power next week.

Brisbane have the bye next week and will want to go out on a high by taking a stronger side down.

Richmond will be without Daniel Rioli who has left the team for family reasons and Cory Ellis is also an omission with a groin injury, they are replaced in the side by Nick Vlastuin and Connor Menadue.

On the other side of the coin Brisbane are battling injuries of their own with Tom Cutler out with a hamstring injury and Ryan Harwood battling a knee injury, Brisbane has also omitted two other players and Dayne Zorko is out with personal reasons.

It will be a big week for Dustin Martin who will look to boost his outside Brownlow chances with another big week.

Daniel Rich will also look to have a big game after being tagged out of the games in recent weeks and with the possibility of the ball seeing a lot of time in the Lions’ backline his run and ball usage will be important if the Lions have a chance of winning.

Richmond currently have an unbeaten stretch against Brisbane of eight games dating back to 2009.

Can the Tigers keep their slim finals hopes alive or will the Lions turn the recent trend against the Tigers and get a win over their much fancied opponents?
