The Manly Sea Eagles will be looking for a much needed win when they welcome the St George-Illawarra Dragons to Brookvale Oval on Monday night. Join us on The Roar from 7pm (AEST) to follow all of the action and join in on our live blog.

Positive signs have been few and far between for the Manly Sea Eagles this year so their gallant performance against the Cowboys in Round 16 will give them plenty of confidence.

The fact that they are starting to get a line up together similar to what would have been their strongest team at the start of the season has resulted in Manly showing more positive glimpses against strong opposition.

With a spot on the Queensland bench for Game 3 up for grabs, expect Daly Cherry-Evans to be doing all he can to get his team over the line.

2016 has been an up-and-down year for the Dragons who find themselves in ninth spot on the ladder with eight wins and seven losses.

Lingering in the middle of the pack, St George have shown plenty of potential so far this season with three wins from their last four games, including victories over the Storm and the Cowboys.

With State of Origin not really having an effect on their line-up this year the Dragons have taken full advantage of this tough middle period of the year.

Look for Josh Dugan to have a big game in a bid to get his spot back for Origin Game 3 in a few weeks.

The Sea Eagles head into the clash with an unchanged team from the one that pushed the defending premiers to the limit.

For the Dragons Tariq Sims comes back into the side on the bench after being excluded from playing his former team. Jack de Belin will start at lock with Jacob Host moving back to the bench and Will Matthews dropping to 18th man.

There are many factors that will play a role in deciding the winner of this game including the battle of the forward packs.

After struggling in the first half against the Cowboys, the likes of Addin Fonua-Blake, Siosaia Vave and Jake Trbojevic put in a dominant display in the second half of that game and if they find that same form this week the Dragons will have their hands full.

The battle of the fullbacks will also be important with Josh Dugan coming up against the out of form Brett Stewar.

Prediction
This one could go either way with both teams struggling to impress this year, but something makes me lean towards the Sea Eagles after their big second half against the Cowboys.

Sea Eagles by 2 points.
