The surprise packet of the season, the Greater Western Sydney Giants, will host possibly the biggest game in the club’s short history on Saturday against the Western Bulldogs, with a shot at the grand final on the line.

The Giants triumphed over big brother Sydney Swans in the opening week of the finals, with one of the best performances of the season by any team, earning themselves a week off and a rest before the prelims.

The Bulldogs are coming off the back of a huge upset win over the Hawks last week, knocking out the three-time defending premiers to keep their tilt at the flag alive.

With the pointy end of the 2016 season well and truly upon us, footy fans don’t want to miss a beat as the finale approaches. Here’s all the hows, whens and wheres you can see all the AFL action this weekend.

Date: Saturday, September 24
Time: 5:15pm (AEST)

How to watch on TV

The Seven Network and Fox Sports are sharing the broadcast load this year, both covering the game live from kickoff to final siren.

On free to air, Seven’s programming begins at 4pm with the AFL Pre-Game Show, then it’s to the stadium for the game coverage beginning at 5pm.

All the action will be on Seven’s main channel in NSW and Victoria, and you can check out the full schedule for other states here.

The 24-hour AFL channel Fox Footy will have all your pay-TV footy needs covered, starting at 4:30pm with the AFL: Finals Footy program before the game. That will run for 45 minutes, up to the first bounce at 5:15pm on the same channel.

Fox Footy will also have a one-hour post-game show starting straight after the game.

How to stream online

Foxtel and Fox Sports again rears its head, with the option of streaming across most major devices through their Foxtel Play and Foxtel Go apps.

Both link to Foxtel accounts that will set you back $50 a month for the sports package necessary to watch the footy.

The other option is the AFL’s own Live Pass service, which gets you access to every minute of every game, plus a whole heap of original content across the app. It runs on Android, iOS, and Windows mobile devices, and will set you back $4.99 for a weekly pass, $14.99 for a month, and $89.99 for the annual pass.
