The inform Melbourne City take on the reigning champions Adelaide United who will be looking to get their premiership defence back on track at AAMI Park this evening. Join The Roar for live scores and commentary from 7:50pm (AEST).

Melbourne city are playing their third game in a week and will be looking to continue to build on the momentum of reaching their first FFA Cup final in club’s history after beating Victory 2-0 during the week. After previously losing to Perth who they dominated for majority of the game in a high scoring encounter at their home ground last week 2-3.

While for United this season has started off very much like last year being very sluggish and poor in the opening rounds. Guillermo Amor will be hoping it doesn’t take until Round 9 again before his men click into gear. They were unlucky last week to not atleast get a point with Victory snatching the win with the very last kick of the game.

City have named the same squad as last week against Perth glory with Kamau coming back into the line-up for Fitzgerald the only expected change, Kamau missed the FFA Cup semi-final victory after sustaining a nasty concussion against Perth Glory last week. No such luck for Yoshi this week after selecting City as his team for the season on Wednesday.

Adelaide on the other hand will be without the midfield Maestro Cirio who is out ‘Indefinitley’ with a knee injury. It will be the likes of Jeggo who will need to step up in his absence.

Prediction
You can’t tip past City this week apart from losing to Glory last week who they dominated for the majority of the match, nobody has looked even likely at this stage. Adelaide will need to improve a lot on there efforts this season to get the 3 points tonight.

3-0 City
