The Killing Season: Who needs to leave Manchester to ensure success
I’d like to make the point that i had written this before the Burnley game, so i was yet to see Di Maria make his debut
Manchester United will return to the top
i said he needed a captaincy to reach another level. Being the highest goalscorer for Manchester United is probably not abysmal
Manchester United will return to the top
thank you Vas and i appreciate your honesty. However, you raise a point that i have already made, Van Gaal gets off to slow starts. And while United may not be considered a premier threat this season, under Van Gaal, with a couple more signings in midfield and central defense, United will be a force to be reckoned with. They won’t slip into the wilderness as the great Paul Scholes had hinted at.
Manchester United will return to the top
i do agree with you J Binnie, and last nights performance was truly woeful given the star studded forward line. Van Persie, Mata, and Rooney never really looked threatening and this is a big worry for United. But three games is not a reflection of the entire season. However, the first two games in particular, and even last night, shows a real shakiness in midfield/defense. Jonny Evans, Fletcher, and Jones all looked susceptible to the Burnley attack. It is here that i agree that maybe the only thing to do is strengthen those positions with further acquisitions to the squad, as the current players in those positions have shown their lack of class for the club over a number of years now.

Thanks Newbie to the Game, really appreciate it

Firstly Kcin, Do you really think that Liverpool felt compelled to trade their best player without a shadow of a doubt so quckly? Do you really think that the biting incident didn’t play a part? Compare it to the Bale saga of yesteryear and how long that went on for, there really is no comparison even though they were both up there with the most sought after talents in the world. I didn’t say :Liverpool ‘moved him on’, but when the money came in, his infamous record of biting and racism didn’t help.
Secondly, Ramsey was very good last year, but what i said was that the signing of a big name player like Ozil revived the gunners and their whole playing squad. Everyone in the squad lifted as a result of someone like Ozil joining the club.
Of course coaches and staff play a part, but that is the same every year, no different to this year. As with Mourinho, the axe always looms over the Stanford bridge dugout because ibrahimovic is one crazy numpty.
Im sorry that i cant write a ten page essay on all the reasons for a more lubricated transfer market, but seeing that a world cup is a unique event, it is important to write on its significance when it does come around.

Marko come on, some credit where credit’s due, Villa escaped relegation with… ‘conviction’ last season. Lambert knows what he’s doing.
All jokes aside thanks for your comment, and yes while your most definitely right about the potential for transfer sagas, i like to remain optimistic that clubs will get deals done relatively quickly, or if the media is building up false hype for a player, clubs should be quick to reject.
With a pretty good start to the transfer market i’m looking forward to what is to come.

United still have big work to do on the transfer market, with Herrera and Shaw both not offering the solution to United’s dwindling squad. At least not at the moment, Just on the squad for the America tour alone, it is easy to see the deficiencies in midfield and defense, and Van Gaal’s recent commitment to waiting a couple of weeks to assess the squad, might mean united miss out on the best available players to fill the vacancies. Also, United NEED a marque signing, and Vidal would be the perfect player. Not only can he provide United’s midfield with more potency, but he seems to be one of the rare case of players there days who will go relatively cheap if rumors are to be believed.
Who's winning the EPL transfer war?
hahaha thankyou for your impartiality. I agree that a right back is the priority along with a striker now that Falcao has left, just don’t think Utd should sell Valencia.
